I have been changing over some of my computers from Seti Classic to BOINC today, and I just got the message "BOINC failed to login- Check your account ID and try again. Detaching from project". My account ID has worked properly for 11 computers now, and on the 12th one, I get that message. Does anyone know what the problem is? I know there are users with 20+ computers out there....

I'm getting it as well, so I think there's a problem with the authentication server on Berkeley's end. :)

I think the cgi servers are under heavy load that´s why you´re get these errors.
Authtentifcation isn´t the problem.

Just keep on trying.

I've found the best way to deal with multiple computers is to attach on one and make sure it's communicating properly. Restart the client to make sure any changes are flushed to disk. Then copy the account...xml file(s) to the other computers. The client will need to be restarted (if it is a new BOINC install it's best to have the account...xml file(s) in the target directory before install). That way you don't have to worry about typos or getting rid of those pesky spaces at the end of the URL.

I tried copying the account XML file to the new machine, and it gave a "No host ID assigned" error, and still would not work. I am inclined to believe that there is a server issue at Berkeley, and that the server is not accepting any new hosts because of this issue. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, as I would like to add another 4 computers.
