I can trace my parental roots to 1518. My ancestor came to the Americas with Cortez. I was only able to trace my maternal roots to 1870. I was able to meet my maternal great-grandfather who told me about his father, my great-great but he lived in a poor village with archives. If I wanted to spend the time and money to visit Spain I could trace my paternal roots back even further. But why? No one is ever going to give me the crown of Spain. Oh, nearly sunrise. Need to go set up my camera. TTFN Got my shot: Good morning |

Here we have a very good day of summertime sunshine. Meanwhile, various numbers and calculations are in progress to confirm that, after many years, we finally do away with one of our outdated suppliers. ... That also requires embarking on a bit of a big change of some of the equipment here... Definitely one for more than one strong coffee needed for consideration, and before pushing the button on that one! Meanwhile down in the Cat Cave, Rotten has said I lost 17lbs, I'm now 460lbs and with no injections or "diet" pills, I have not weighed this much since 11-27-2023. I got brave and weighed myself today. My jeans feel looser and the lady at the Post Office said I looked thinner yesterday, so hope springs eternal, another 230lbs to go, my dad was a lady killer, so to speak, not that he really killed anyone outside of WW2. Temp is going to be 91F outside, it's currently 86 outside the Cave. My Diet: Burritos, chimichangas, Chex gluten-free cereal(Cinnamon and Honey-Nut), SB sliced french bread, SB sliced ham, SB yellow mustard, Kraft lite miracle whip, once or twice a month Shasta sugar free mountain rush soda, SB tortilla strips(7% salt), Crystal Light fruit punch powdered drink mix, DHMO... Continued summertime sunshine as the wind calms down to a gentle warm breeze. All is quiet and this is a beautiful chance for a brew and pause for thoughts. Enjoy! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

It has certainly been "chrome platers" weather here, even it the temperature wasn't as high as the chrome plating would imply. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

In the damp and drizzle of a grey fluff overcast becalmed day. ... And we had our big order arrive and... Lo... There is one part missing from that ordered... OK, so we're busy enough with the other stuff for the time being, but that's still a disproportionate waste of time and faff to chase up... All rather costly for everyone concerned... The nature of how that one part is missing from the order raises my suspicions... Especially being as this is the second time for that trick recently. Part of a game of scamming? Or a mistake from too much rush and haste on the part of the supplier? Regardless, no one wins on this one. Good luck with the rehab Mike. Posting after an enforced 6 week internet holiday and catching up here. Telstra (known here locally as "Hellstra") who runs the backbone of our phone and internet services decided to kick the other ADSL ISP's out of our local exchange so that they could get more bandwidth for their 4G network (and their own ADSL service may not be far behind by all reports) so I had to wait for a satellite service to be installed and now I'm trying to get use to click and wait lag, but I still get the same speeds as my old ADSL while saving $11 per month and getting an unlimited downloads now instead of a 200GB limit. The extended wait time for the satellite installation was also caused by so many around here getting kicked off all at once and living in a rural area where installers are few and far between. It also looks like I'll be dumping my landline soon as I can save $20-30 a month by changing over to a basic dumb mobile phone seeing as I don't need the landline for my internet any longer. Anyhow it's time to feed Dog and then I may crash seeing as I've been up since 3.30am. Cheers. |

Good to see you back, we were getting a little concerned that you may have gone perm-silent. ISPs, telcos etc. - they can all be grade one pains in the chair polisher :-( Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I feel for you about the lag time. Years back I was on a popular site (at least to me). It had a enforced lag time of about 30 seconds between posts. And it was a terrestrial network. |

Welcome back Wiggo. Surviving six weeks suddenly disconnected from the internet. Incredible. |
