Into a chilly Easter.

And all's beautifully quiet!

Enjoy!

Things are hopping along here, the "new" phone is up and running and one by one apps are being signed into.
I did take two pics of the snow yesterday, lets see if they are online, this with the old phone
as I had not received the new one and its cover in the mail yesterday, I do have it now.

Snow happened yesterday... I took this just before going to get the mail where my new phone and cover was and before going shopping for some food too.
If it does rain like it did before today before the snow on the mountains melts this area could get SNOW, maybe.

My "new" phone, crack and all.

This used phone is a bargain, find the crack, if you can...

Lower left of phone screen, the crack's only visible from an angle and goes from left to to right in this pic
and is about 0.0625" x 0.50" in size, the cost was about $137 with the cover or less than $129 without the cover,
it's a Lavender s20 FE 5G phone,
I couldn't be picky on the color, everything works perfectly. Besides the cover hides
the phones color pretty well, the old s10+ phone needs a new battery. I like my upgraded phone, and I saw worse online.

Also on the Key bridge, they are using cutting torches on parts of the bridge and can be seen on youtube
"Baltimore Bridge Collapse Probe Live | Baltimore Bridge Collapse".
This video was started 11 hrs ago according to youtube and is on the CNN-News18 channel.
Gawd that's a huge bridge, it weighs 95,000 tons, about as much as the ship it's holding...
And it's raining again, we received 0.55" inches today and 0.57" yesterday. If this keeps up this area will be cooler.

For the rediscovery of the day:

Never underestimate how far the the stretch, or how springy is the stretch, of a long length of rope...

... Or how elastic time can be...

All good fun?

Pretty spring day here. The low was 51f and the expected high is 74f. Very few clouds and no rain in the forecast until Thursday. I need to go to Reno on Thursday so I will be driving through the snow. Time to pack the chains again.
They have a lot of snow along the I80 Pass. A friend sent me this from his yard in Truckee yesterday.

Say is that Reno or Mammoth?

Temp outside my laboratory? It's 51F and sunny.

Inside the furnace is raising the temp from 70 to probably 79, though I read the kitties would like 86 better.

Last night both kitties were sneezing up a storm, once they got near me, they started to settle down.

On Wednesday the two 15x6" Chevy Spark wheels will arrive, then as soon as 2 cards are paid down I'll buy a Toilet that I need, 4 tires, and and 4 tpms valve stems since the car needs new ones.

This month the electric and natural gas bills shrunk to this: $88.46[elec] & $65.11[gas], both were as high as this in February $97.05[elec]+$102.90[gas].

The photo is Truckee. Reno did get some snow but it did not accumulate. Cold but clear there right now.

Ok.

Mammoth snow... But even there it's not like burying whole buildings like it used to.

The cloud cover is deep, the sunshine is feeble...

And there's lots to do and time is short...

And there's some awkward logistics to bring together!

... All good fun!!

And for a complete surprise appearance, I have some help here from the feral beast keeping the rest of the world away. She's happily chilled on the concrete floor. Amazing how she warms to a handful of nibbles and an old equipment dust sheet... Even so, she's still keeping a wary eye on me also...

Here is all chilly soggy damp under an impenetrable grey wet sky...

With all the wild-and-wet out there at the moment, very much so!

We do seem to have suffered very unusually persistent wet and windy or otherwise misty-murky weather over the last few months. So much so that the sogginess has never really dried out. There's patches of moss that have carpeted various areas of concrete and tarmac to a good healthy depth! That stuff also too quickly blocks up the drains... We have enjoyed some beautiful bursts of warm sunshine and calm... Only to suffer a steaming sticky mess quickly followed by an unseasonal blast of mosquitoes!

You could easily conjure up a Sci-Fi story to explain it all!!

Meanwhile, the feral beast seems to be slowly mellowing out to being a little less grumpy... It does help to appreciate her very clear signals, if you can notice such things. Some (blind, arrogant, too rushed) people don't... She's not nipped anyone for a little while now... (I'm on alert for her, also those who have been nipped might have learnt at last to keep a safer distance!)

All good fun?

There's certainly a very eclectic mix to dance around!!

(At least we don't get the dark creatures of Mordor meandering through... So far...)

Cloudy and cold. 26f overnight and a high of 39f is expected. No, I am not on the delta. I am currently in Reno for the weekend.

New York and New Jersey now know what CA goes thru, welcome to the Club, 4.8 magnitude Earthquake...

And that's just a small one...
Wait until a 7.10 magnitude Earthquake, you'd love that.
A 5.0 is 10 times bigger than a 4.0.
Glacial Rebound is what is happening, moove along, moove along.

Still no Wiggo.

As to Beasts, none are here, not with these 3 guardians on the job.

Grace and me...

So now we have a blast of bright and blustery breezy... We're well into Storm "K" already. Hopefully it doesn't get too wet on the back end of this one...

That's 11 storms already...

... We're going to need a new bigger alphabet before long!

Enjoy!!

Oh... And I've been called over to the Food Desert to remove some old, and install some new equipment. At least I get some help across various of the days (except for one pair of hands suffering "stomach problems" at the mere mention of the place and before even getting over there!). Not looking forward to clambering in and through and under that old half-century-old ... 'rubbish' and 'dust'... I've got mi mask and special suit ready.

I'll be seeing who actually does manage to make it over there for tomorrow...

(It's been quite an 'adventure' to be able to keep with old-style real world knobs and dials rather than going all digital controls... However, and significantly, this is not a Boeing 737 1960's cockpit upon which present day lives depend!!!)

On Caturday when it's warmer I get to take back 4 bags of burritos that I bought today, being gluten intolerant is a royal pain, I bought 27 and it should have been 23, why not today?

The car battery won't be ready until 12:45am @ 12 amps, the car could do 8 amps and 12 amps @ 120v or 240v, or 15 amps, but 15 needs 240v and is as much as a 3.3kw charger can do, Stater Bros Market closes at 11:00pm, so I wait as the 4 pkgs are in the freezer and will keep, it's 48F outside, BRR.

I managed to get all my food inside out of the trunk in 3 trips, 12 bags. Otherwise I'd be $12.70 over at the bank, but I've got this. This is $5.49 a bag.
