Well the veggies are prepared for a warm day (a muggy 27C is expected today), but the crazy pumpkins are now making it very hard to water them and the potatoes with a watering can (I may have to look into a small pump for those IBC's next), and I got half of the laneway line trimmed before it ran out of charge (what a soggy jungle that is) which is just cooling down before it starts recharging again.

Anyhow it's time for my 3rd coffee of the morning before I pull the mower out again and nail that front yard again (after 2 days it should be a bit drier so that I can cut it lower).

Cheers.

Oy - Martin, your errant plumber has escaped again :-(

And not by half measures either!

By 'eck, we've got a rollercoaster of weather!! From sunshine to deluge and now whimsical murk grey with bright bits, and...

Well, there's been an expensive looking landslip nearby. And all well beyond soggy... Is this an export of the infamous Ukraine soggy??...

And yep, the jobs are stacked up. This trying to fix/rescue the remote site is getting to be exhaustingly disruptive...

So... I'm catching up with a now immediately essential upgrade that has been long planned and carefully planned out since last year... Except now, everything is at 100% capacity and the great plan has turned out to be a frustrating start and a new head-scratcher at every step. Or rather, at every juggle of a towers-of-Hanoi puzzle of moving equipment around to get in to get anything done!

At least we had one good giggle... In haste, I was determined to heft off a panel which is a two-man lift/manoeuvre... Except I couldn't get it to budge. Much hilarity and great scoffing ensued about my missing breakfast or that of being vegetarian... Until I thought the movement felt a bit strange... And lo! The thing was still bolted to the floor panel upon which I was standing! Duh...

In short, busy!

(And very good to enjoy civilisation and my more usual group!)

Winning on a Thorsday morning as the sun starts to rise.

Though I'm not so sure that I'm ready for another 2hrs of mowing today after doing that for the last 3 days.

Anyhow it's time for another coffee.

Cheers.

Bolted to the floor eh? Sounds like a job for "the Hulk" or "Ben Grimm"...

Or in reality a person with some tools who can unbolt it.

The weather is not cooperating. It was forecast to be warm all week. The sky is crying and it's barely 60f.

So there was a very good reason behind it being a two-man lift/manoeuver Martin. :-)

Well I just finished my morning yard inspection and veggie watering (boy are those capsicums thirsty buggers) and while the dew isn't so bad this morning lugging 4 x 9L watering can loads around the yard I'm certainly going to give pushing the mower around today a miss. I'll finish the line trimming out in the laneway and then I reckon that I'll just do a bit of pruning instead, which will make that next mowing session much easier.

Anyhow it's time for another coffee before I hit that laneway.

Cheers.

Here the temp is 51F, the low? 34... There is some snow nearby.

Yes, the gigglers removed the rest of the bolts and two of us got the thing out of the way.

Really appreciating being back in Civilisation. Good to have a good well known group and with the right skills/tools. Makes a big difference. No sign of the feral hound yet.

And... In the dampness, it's gone strangely warm and we already have mosquitoes!! At this time of year!!!

... I'm suspicious there's an equipment warmed pool of water somewhere...

Ouch!

After 2 goes with the rechargeable line trimmer (about 40mins runtime per charge) out in the laneway and 2 hours of pruning back a climbing rose (a yellow Lady Banks) so that now I can again walk under and around it without ducking and my back boundary line and the drain can be seen again. I also got my side of the drain trimmed down low enough for the mower to handle, but the mower will not be seeing the other side of the drain as the council has spread rocks and stones through the grass there so I'll just line trim that side that side and I may do that this evening just before sunset or in the morning depend on how I feel then.

Anyhow it's time for a few beers now. :-D

Cheers.

My weight still can't be read, as my scale appears to be broken, I'd solved th power problem, but out of 5 tries, 1 time the scale worked and said 457lbs, before and since the scale would light up and go up and down around 477lbs and then turn off, the 2nd time after the screen going black the scale would start out 20lbs higher than before, it's broke, so much for a 550lb capability. So my Doctor is going to order a DME scale for me, I'm at 4.5mg for Trulicity injections and that is the max dosage he said..
DME is Durable Medical Equipment. I have my doubts they'll approve this.

Wiggo, just be sure you are wearing chaps ad boots if your are using a string trimmer near rocks. They can do some real damage when they go flying.

Rocks and debris are not the only problem. I once found two nests of ground wasps. I didn’t see them coming until after they gave my legs a few jabs. Later with 3 liters of kerosene and a couple of matches. The problem disappeared.

S/s shirt, shorts and Japanese safety boots Gary. ;-)

But I wasn't going down far enough to find them, though I have left a 4-5" tall grass hedge along there (that may get higher over time). :-D

We only have to worry about Eastern Browns, King Browns and Red Bellied Blacks (though the later arn't always black with a red belly) to worry about when working around these drains. ;-(

Anyhow I'd better a feed in of some sort.

BTW, we could only make it to 25C (felt like 24C) here, but I didn't miss the 27C that was forecasted.

Cheers.

Yay! Misty sunshine...

As I go ongoing into strange places where the sun is a mere few pin pricks of hopeful light...

Hopefully, the feral hound is enjoying the mild weather and sunshine!

Winning on a Good Friday morning.

We got off to a 16C (felt like 15C) start with 24C being expected, but the race could be on between the mower and the weather this morning.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee,

Cheers.
