Watching bits fly and wondering how graphics interface software can become so bloated...

I dread to think about the abomination against entropy, and the amazing emergent complexity, from all the extravagant bit twiddling!!

Enjoy?

I love my volt. Only 30-mile electric range. But that is plenty for shopping and all my around-town errands. When I need to go further, it has a gas engine. One of the beauties of the Volt is that the batteries are always kept at 20-80% charge. The full charge is not really a full charge, it's 80%. That is the sweet spot for longevity. Mine is a 2013 with just over 200,000 miles and the batteries still test at 95% of new. Another plus is that if a cell goes bad it can be replaced independently, you don't need to change the whole battery pack. If you want to replace the whole pack you can but from a dealer, you are looking at $10K plus. A remanufactured pack is only $3k.
Vic if you are driving less than 30 miles per trip, get one of the Volts. You can plug it into a regular 110 outlet to charge. That 30-mile charge is going to cost you about 50 cents.

No bits flying here as yet except for all these choppers coming and going from their service station down on the oval.

I'm almost finished out in the yard except for waiting on a 1000L IBC to finish its 2nd draining so that I can swap it for the other that has had plenty of flushes now and hopefully that will be finished before the next lot of rain is due, but I may not be so lucky about that happening today as the dark clouds close in again and the weather radars around here all begin to light up.

Anyhow I'm ready for a couple of beers while I wait to see what happens.

Cheers.

I'm watching a few Volts and Volt LT's, Volt Premiums seem to like Black leather interiors, I contacted Clean cars 4 All, but so far only a return email as it may not be statewide yet.

Well there's no chance of getting a spinal reset in again this afternoon as even more choppers than yesterday are stopping in at the oval today and they're doing 2-3 at a time now, though they are of the smaller variety today and not the ex military that have been using it up until yesterday. They're still very noisy though. LOL

They're hitting the tight ravines now in the small, but very rugged, national parks north of here before the fires hit farmland at the bottom of them while ground crews back burn up those ravines that they can. Thankfully there's now some good rain falling in some of those national parks, especially just up around Tenterfield (the next town north of here where it was really bad), so that they can focus on the rest of them.

Anyhow I might as well enjoy another beer before I go and move that hose off my still draining IBC.

Cheers.

I did get my 2 IBC's swapped about and I was just finishing setting up the last as the rain started falling while it looked that threatening that the servo down on the oval bugged out very quickly.

Anyhow I better try and grab a bit more sleep before that sun gets back here.

Cheers.

I did get an email from Carmax on a Ford Focus Electric, a 2017-18 would be better, but they have a 2013 for $12,599 w/a payment of $251 for 72 months and Carmax has offered me $150 for my car, the offer is good for 7 days since last night. The 2013 FFE may be locked to the dealer where it's located at. The Focus Electric was not built by Ford where it counts, they farmed that out then, the 2011-2016 can only do AC charging w/o an upgrade and has a 23Kw(76miles) battery that takes up part of the trunk, 2017-2018 can do AC or DC charging and has a 33.5Kw(115miles) battery. I have been pre-qualified. A 2014 there costs $14,599 by comparison, no idea on how much per month as it's labeled "coming soon".

Why give it back when it only just got here?

And it's shining brightly again this morning, but will likely change by noon just like yesterday as more rain and storms are on the forecast.

Anyhow it time for a coffee before I start getting my brewroom ready for action tomorrow.

Cheers.

We all don’t think about it much if at all sometimes. You want that car but how easy is it to get in and out of?
My brother got a Cherokee Sport that is not allowing me adequate head room to get in the car. If I was a head shorter I would fit. I can’t get past the top of the door frame to enter the vehicle. This is something to consider. Can you get in and out easily. Now think about it with body aches.

You can have the sun now Martin as we've finished with it here. ;-)

The servo down on the oval here was a lot quieter today and again packed up early as storm clouds threatened, but they are knocking the fire count down.

Anyhow I reckon that I'm done for today.

Cheers.

Posting on a clear 42f morning, while I am sitting next to the wood stove. Comfy but my body is protesting being out of bed.

Tidying up the flat for manager inspections. They say it is to verify floor plan layouts. Suspect new management team wants to know if they can charge extra rent.

I'm looking at waiting and getting a Chevy Spark 1LT EV, I want something that doesn't have a gasoline engine to breakdown, Volts are nice but expensive.

In any case I need to put in a new electric clothes dryer and a pair of 30 amp 240v outlets, I did find a car I like that has DCFC installed, instead of a $750 dealer install, but it may have been sold as it is priced @ $9,999.00. The Spark EV takes about 20 hours to recharge @ 120v ac, and about 7 hours @ 240v ac. The clothes dryer needs 22-24 amps where the car needs only 16 amps, 15 amps on 120v. On DC maybe 20 mins at most since the battery is either 21.3Kw or 19.0Kw depending on the year(2013-2016), 82 miles EPA range.

Last night I strained my right shoulder joint, hopefully it will get better soon, I'd dislocated it in 2002.

Winning on a dull Good Friday morning, but we may again see a little sunshine before the next lot of weather brews up here.

It's coffee time.

Cheers.

Cold, murky, overcast and damp with a stiff wind. Tomorrow’s weather is predicted much better. Just subpar fall weather.

I was going to deconstruct 3 of my smaller wicking tubs this morning to add a watertight linings to them, but thankfully 1 was already done so I just topped it up further with the worm ladened soil from 1 of the other tubs and it now joins the other 3 on the shelf above my compost bays (Chinese cabbages will be grown in that 1 when I get the seeds for those a little later on).

Anyhow after another humid and warm morning out in the yard I'm ready for a LLB and some socialising.

Cheers.

The sun has been and gone but whilst here it very nicely shone.

... For the afternoon at least in between a good few clouds!

And now we see stars!

Thar'll be a frost for the morning...
