What put the lights out?!!!

We have clear blue sky above and yet all is very suddenly preternaturally dark as though the sun has suddenly been eclipsed...

As the sun has indeed been suddenly blotted out by a cloud bank far and low to the Western horizon.

... And Lo! The sun was Snubbed Out!

Working from home. Bit cool this morning. Still, only 48f with a high of 65 expected. Light clouds and wind. The river level is a little higher than normal. The rain from the mountains has made its way down to where I am. Nice to see some salmon in the river. That's been rare but I saw two this morning. They appear to be making a comeback. Fingers crossed.

Having a Bit of trouble with my left hip joint, hopefully the 6 pills I swallowed will get rid of the pain and allow me to walk without being about to collapse in pain... In 2002 I broke my left shin and dislocated both knees and both hips in the fall, only my shin was mended.

3-Bayer back & body 500mg + 32.5mg caffeine each
3-acetaminophen 650 mg each
(my Doctor wanted to prescribe 500mg of acetaminophen as he can't do 650mg I guess, though I think he'd like to)

Winning on a dull Hump Day morning in the highlands where it's 16C with 22C being expected along with more showers and thunderstorms.

Anyhow it's now coffee time.

Cheers.

When are duck hunters allowed to start shooting? At 6:30 am a group who anchored their blind within what seems to be a few hundred feet from my house started shooting. I wanted to sleep in today.
I am off until Monday. 5 days off for Turkey Day, not duck day.
Clear and 38f/3c this morning.

Winning early on a Thorsday morning without any rain falling, but that will likely change later on.

Cheers.

So... What a day juggling fitters and contractors and inspectors and...

So... We were lost for words for one particular non-crafts supposed crafts-person... Yep... It was another glorified plumber exposing instead shameless ignominy...

One of my over-polite colleagues was trying to explain a communications problem with the said fitter and was lost for words for the difficulty in usefully imparting meaning upon the operative. We went through our repertoire of:

Eloquent, expressive, flowery, fluent, articulate, polysyllabic, monosyllabic, mumbling, non-verbal, mute, uncultivated, erudite, overly-verbal...?

And so this plumber was rated a respectable "articulate", but a near zero for any signs of understanding/comprehension, and a complete fail due to spilling the fluids all across the floor... And for doing a 'runner' having left the installation untested... Thankfully and sensibly, the (failed) test that was eventually done was merely cold water.

... There's about two days of chasing up to put in the required fixes.

Hey ho?

After a gloomy 14C (felt like 13C) start here we're starting to get a few splashes of sunshine about, but I won't see much of that this morning as I'll be in the brewroom as soon as this 12L of water on the ring burner boils.

22C is expected today along with more showers and thunderstorms later on.

Cheers.

I'm thinking about going to a festival on the outer Hebrides this summer, tickets aren't on sale yet, but the festival website has a few useful phrases. I suspect I can already find the two that are going to be least used "Tha e tioram" & "Tha e blàth", and one that will be used quite a lot "Tha e fliuch".

(And I doubt that one would ever here "Tha e teth" used to describe the weather)

Hey, what a murky day through persistent thick misty drizzle and...

Well... We've just discovered that our 'articulate' 'fitter' doesn't know (or cares?) about the differences between low pressure valves and high pressure valves...

We're having an onsite meeting tomorrow... How many people does it take to admire a valve and some pipes?

Hopefully not too many spirits have been dampened or diluted!!
