Fall is here. Cold nights and warm days. Just after 11:00 am and not quite 70°f. |

SEVEN YEARS of grass?!What's under that silver tarp in that pic is what I havn't used yet of the previous 10yrs of composted grass clippings Martin. ;-) Most veggies grow very well in it, but it holds a little too much moisture for potatoes so I've got an equal amount of sifted dirt to mix with it. That will likely be today's job as it's time to get my potato stacks started up again as I've got seed potatoes ready to go. It's also time to to get the butternut pumpkin seeds in as well, but they love growing in the raw compost. The cos lettuce, spring onions, shallots, pak choi and carrots are still going well as my winter crops. The lettuce has surprised most around here growing during winter and they're now on their 2nd regrowth. On this Tuesday's road trip I'll be getting some pond liner to line the 2 halves of that cut 1000L IBC and then I can start putting 2 huge wicking tubs together and producing more veggies in a good all year round position. Anyhow I should try getting a nap in before the sun rises and another busy day will be had. Cheers. |

I'm still a LOSER, I fit better in the seat of the electric cart at the store than I did last month when I struggled to sit properly, my left thigh is shrinking, even with 1 gallon of Strawberry Swirl Ice Cream. 8 burritos or chimichangas and a bowl of cereal and maybe a sandwich a day to eat. On the 5th or so I have corn chips, Shasta zero sugar mountain rush soda and yep ice cream, plus some colby/jack cheese until it all runs out. I'll have to dig out the scale and see what it says later, I'm tired, all I did was fill the cart and put the food in the freezer, my friend who I thanked brought the food in for me and took out the 3 bags of trash I put out. Well I'm just enjoying my last coffee of the morning before heading outside to take care of those last 2 piles in the middle of my backyard. We got off to a 6C (felt like 3C) start here with 21C being expected and currently it's 12C (feels like 10C). Cheers. |

For a gentle start, try one 'swap' at-a-time to something more fun? There's good examples on: "10 healthy food swaps from ZOE’s community" I'm very much enjoying their hints and tips and shared knowledge and tasty fun. Even for this far up into the heathen North!! Try one easy step at a time? And enjoy! Have fun!! (Meanwhile, I'd best keep quiet about my beer... Hic, burp!) Another bust day is being had here as the temp here is now at 20C (feels like 18C) and I'm taking another quick cool down beer break before going out and mixing more compost and dirt together. I may have about 2 to possibly 3 more loads to mix up in the concrete mixer after already getting 7 mixer/wheelbarrow loads done. Anyhow where's that beer? Cheers. |

Have you seen those tv commercials where a tv is mounted on the ceiling above a bed. Well I got curious and made a cradle out of a 6 inch square cardboard box for my video projector. I put it on the floor as close to my bed as I could and aligned the image so it looked straight. I just had to ignore the light texture pattern on the whole ceiling. Not to hard to do and I got a 81 inch video image. I repurposed a set of Logitech computer speakers and put them on my end tables for a decent stereo sound. So now I can get a spinal reset and be entertained in comfort. |

So now I can get a spinal reset and be entertained in comfort. My Vizio 55" is as much as my bedroom can take, and forget about ceiling or wall mount, right now my drill is useless cause the NiMH battery is not a high priority to replace with a Lithium battery, my car comes first, Install timing, oil pan & valve cover gaskets, & pwr steering hoses, then floor repairs in the kitchen, hallway/wash room, and rear bathroom, then my 3 kitties need a checkup and chips on 2 of my kitties, a new elongated toilet, a new bedroom window(the last), 5 gallons of exterior white paint to make 10 gallons with another 5 gallon can here, replace my 18yr Whirlpool fridge, then 2 Evga 3090 xc3 cards, a 28" soundbar, a region free Sony/LG bluray/dvd player, a lithium drill battery for a Ryobi P205, install 2 toilets and a new bathroom vanity/sink, new kitchen & hallway & rear bathroom flooring, three 240v electric outlets/circuits for the new appliances and a new 200Amp breaker box with 60 Amps service @ the 100Amp stub, new black Whirlpool electric range(smooth top, 240v), Whirlpool electric clothes dryer(240v), electric water heater(240v), weather proof 240v 40amp outlet under the car port and a 15Amp 120v outlet, 30Amp RV 120v w/a twist lock outlet in my living room, 2 ductless heatpumps(12000 btu ea @ 120v ea), four 500w solar panels and a micro inverter, mounting brackets for the panels, a newer used Chevy Bolt EV or EUV(2022 went to push buttons for the transmission, 2021 and before uses a shift knob). Then the home will be renovated. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I got a 32 inch Vizio tv on a folding table in my bedroom. My Nebula Mars Lite video projector is at least 5 years old. I bought it at Walmart. I just pointed it at the ceiling and got a big image. It is not very big. A gallon of milk weighs more than it. |

Winning after a very long and busy day. Now I just need to mow. It's road trip Tuesday again tomorrow so other than doing the usual I'll be grabbing some pond liner to finally finish those big wicking tubs. Anyhow I'm just trying to hang in there a little bit longer before I crash. Cheers. |
