I now have a functioning living room, though it still needs a sofa. Oh and the feet are 1.5" tall 5/16" thread feet, it had nothing before I installed the 4 feet. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I've got good news and bad news. The Bad news is I'm a LOSER. The Good news is I'm a LOSER... I weighed myself today and the scale said 466lbs, somewhere outside there is 7lbs looking rather homeless. Before this the scale said 473lbs, so progress is being made. Me laying down on the small sofa and Grace on my Igloo Cooler and pillow in my living room. Next vacuum the living room, it needs that. When I started losing weight, I was 505lbs. What a beautiful summertime evening! And for the thought for the week... Are workers with certain 'skill sets': Naturally lax/lazy and lacking in due care and any diligence? Too rushed to do any more than 80% of the job? Or have come to expect that they can "get away with" attempting at most 80% of the job and no one will bother to chase them up? Or they really are unaware and incompetent yet are too well practiced at cover-ups and feigning doing the job??...

I timed that well catching a break in the rain to go out and read the gauge which said that we got 16.5mm while the mercury has crawled up to 11C with the wind now making it feel like 6C. There was certainly enough of it to filled 1 of my new 1000L IBC's (which is now draining out again) and the 2nd 1 is getting close to its 1st flush out (the 2nd 1's downpipe that it's connected to doesn't drain off a lot of roof area), but at least the ground that I've still got to dig up should be a bit softer now. Well more rain with a possible thunderstorm is expected along with snow above 1200m also possible later on. Anyhow I can see that I'm going to be in for a boring day today as I got carried away catching up on my neglected domestic duties yesterday. Oh well, I might as well get an extra coffee in this morning while enjoying the comfortable 19C temp upstairs and it's just 12C downstairs, but as there's nothing to do down there either I can't be bothered lighting the fire. Cheers. |

From grimly windy wet and grey, to reappearing under a bright grey overcast. Hopefully all the wet stuff stays north of us... And a circuit breaker went bang with a loud whallop of a bang... The operators were in despair for the equipment... Curiously, they still tried the start procedure even though all was dead. Wishing the non-operation wasn't so? Almost religiously so! The developing rumours of doom were quite something to hear. A crescendo of gloom of Biblical nature was exchanged in the idleness. Each retelling gained ever greater elaborations to go ever deeper into doom. A damaged connection was soon found and replaced. Magic works oncemore... And my trusty multimeter and blinking-lights tester are now revered as wizardry. Scarily, I seem to have been promoted to the status of a god!! Very good to have nicely appreciative satisfied customers. All good fun! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |
