Winning on a frosty Saturday morning in the highlands down under where it's currently -3C (feels like -6C) with 18C expected. Anyhow I better get the kettle turned on. Cheers. |

Sunshine and April showers!... And attempting an early finish... No manner of bribery can undo the laws of physics and fluid/gas dynamics... I'm still strangely dismayed at the pipework farce. It should be simple with a standard kit of parts for the installation... There's one particular connection that is an abomination to the eye... Two units have been installed that are required to be inline with each other. Yet... One is clearly offset to one side by a good few millimeters. No measurement needed... You can see it is! Hence the straight section of very non-flexible connecting pipe is strained against the respective seals by a very visible non-perpendicular angle... How long will that last before leaking?... Or is that the extra profit for an all-so-soon "emergency call-out"?... We ain't having them two monkeys back again! Regardless of their claimed 'expertise' and Certificates of 'Competence' and 'Conformances' and hazardous rating... I think my dismay is their very clear lack of expertise beyond no-thoughts-needed tick-box assembly. All their paperwork and claims of 'expertise' are an expensive waste of time... Especially my wasted time in chasing up their mess! All very disappointing... Which makes all the other more complicated bits that are working well, all the better for the fun thoughtful complication, and for working well! Better education needed all round!! Ah, but is the pipe fitters union responsible for installation of the units, or some other trade union? e.g. carpenters? Welcome to the world of general contractors. |

Well... It's slightly more complicated than that... It's the same one contractor. Their "pathfinder" expert did the initial install with an unqualified 'general helper'... In their rush and haste, the last piece of equipment didn't get bolted down to anything... It was just left held in place by the connections. Not a good idea if some over-enthusiastic operative then swings on the controls... Hence we insisted that everything had to be firmly bolted down... In comes their general-dogsbody-fix-it who happens to be a carpenter by training who thus held things in place with screws into big washers and timber support rails... The system then failed the pressure tests (it leaked!)... We're now into round four of replacement seals... To be picked up further on Monday! (I might have more patience by then...) Enjoying a spectacular multilayered sunset sky. Vincent van Gogh would be greatly inspired! With added good and fun people to come later... Enjoy! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Beautiful sunshine with fluffy white bits. Very good to be out and about... Also aching badly from the out and about!... Better exercise needed... And well... What a week! ... And we've still got a leak!!! At least there's no need to rush in with a fix. That can wait for further deliberations. For another aside, I discovered one of the control levers has three positions - up, centre, and down. Easy enough. Except the markings are far too minuscule/discrete to be noticed. Labels and indicators spoil the clean futuristic look perhaps?... I had to make a thoughtful guess about the 'up'... There's bound to be unwanted action with that one!... Easily fixed with big sticky labels. But... Why such bad ergonomics in the first place?... But what is ringing for the week is the repeated silliness of so many idiots for the week. We even had a van driver doing damage by reversing back too far... Does certain equipment come each with their own very special types of idiots?... Your not alone Martin. I watched a tv series about a contractor that went in behind shoddy work contractors and fixed their bad non code compliance. |

87f and I don't think I'll need to turn on the AC today, The next 3 days are forcast to be 10 degrees warmer and I am certain AC will be invoked. I'm glad I'm not in the south west. |
