Thor’s in the local area again. Storm chasers are following wall clouds. Looking at weather radar. It is going to be close. Sirens are blaring off and on. Keeping a weary eye to the sky. Storm chasers are tracking a possible ground toucher. Clouds are spinning. |

The scale is active again, though I might need to recharge the batteries soon, the scale says it has 2/3rds of a full charge, I found out I weigh 8lbs more than I did in August of 2022 @ 474lbs. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

It's now time for a Good Friday Beer O'clock here as the temp here reaches 16C (feels like 13C) while the clouds also build up. Cheers. |

A tornado went through a town 15 minutes drive south of me. Light damage from the news crew report. Thor is still wailing away on his anvil hard and heavy. |

There is a California town lower than sea level, be glad you don't live in Calipatria(wiki), that town is 180' below sea level, the top of the flag pole at I think the Post Office is the highest point in town... At an elevation of 180 feet (55 m) below sea level, Calipatria(bing search: flagpole) is the lowest incorporated city in the Western Hemisphere. The city currently claims to have the "tallest flagpole (184 feet) where the flag flies at sea level" at 184 feet (56 m), so their American flag will always fly above sea level. I'll stick with being almost 1km above sea level on top of this mountain range here. ;-) Things wern't warming up fast enough here so I gave the wood heater a tickle up to move things along a bit and now I'll enjoy my 2nd coffee break for the morning before deciding on what else will be done today. Cheers. |

Thankfully I live at 591m/1939' above sea level in a desert which is predicted to be 100F on Monday, the temp got up to 94 today. Two floor fans and a large a/c unit in the 6" thick wall are keeping me and 3 kitties cool, the backdoor needs insulation as it's a hollow core exterior commercial door, replacing the door with it's odd 30.5" width has proven fruitless, unless I had a more standard door and framing installed instead and that is really expensive, like in the four figures. We have another cool and damp one... And a Plumbing Nightmare Revelation... So... The abomination of some plumbing is to be reworked. There's two manually operated stop valves hidden at the back... All's well until it isn't and then that is not the time to play hide-and-seek to turn things off. The Revelation is from further reflection upon why there is such an infeasible random mess of pipework: My guess is that the plumber/fitter blindly shoved his bits in "quick" with no cares about any plans or drawings, the equipment was then installed, and only then did he discover that his pipe connections were "the wrong way round"... Chaos then ensued whilst squirming and cussin' in a confined space to spaghettifi the pipework to match up. I'm planning a two-phase fix. First attempt comes later this week for a tidy-up-rework. That also fits in nicely with a test to improve that system. Can I get the new bits in time and in (the right) place in time?... ... And for less than two days of disruption?? (And weekends aren't long enough!!) All good fun! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |
