Not cool Martin cold. grrrrrrrr.

... Was just being very "British" about the weather with something of somewhat of an "understatement"... Ho, ho, ho!

Hopefully we can stop all this climate pollution long before the beautifully warming Gulf Stream / AMOC gets poisoned out of existence.

Far far better is to keep the properly frozen poles remaining frozen!

As the sun is about to rise here it's an overcast and muggy 18C (feels like 16C) with 28C expected. Showers and possibly severe thunderstorms are also expected again, but so far we dodged them and it looks like we'll dodge this next lot coming.

Anyhow it must be time for a 2nd coffee by now.

[edit] Finally some rain is falling as Thor sounds off in the distance.

Cheers.

I’ve been a bit busy today, changes in the living room are planned and today I feel a bit better.

Now I have room to the right of my tv for a bookshelf, I put some stuff in the small bedroom,
I did this all by myself, I must be losing more weight,
now if only I had 3 AAA NiMH batteries then my scale would work again and I could weigh my tonnage.

Still no flies as long as the 2 exterior doors are shut. I put all the bottles and cans in a bag each, the boxes on the right are to be tossed as I need the room. I put the car parts and a uhf tv antenna on a cart on the left side of the pic out of the pics field of view. One bag ¼ full of cans can be seen on the left of the toilet, there is nothing behind the bag now and I can now use the vacuum cleaner since I have liberated it. And I’m only ¼ done, though for today it’s enough.

I certainly didn't need to pull the roller door down this morning as there's been sunshine and heat to keep out so far, it's currently a very overcast 21C (feels like 19C) here, but I have got around my veggie beds and tubs since the rain stopped.

I can start harvesting potatoes in 3 weeks, the butternut pumpkin vines are going nuts, the carrots are powering and I may finally be getting some spring onions starting to sprout, but 2 of the cos lettuce are starting to over shadow them, so I just put another line of seeds in further away from the lettuce and I can start harvesting lettuce leaves now. I do have to find out what is attacking my pak choi as nothing that I've tried so far has stopped that feast that's been going on and whatever it/they is/are don't want to reveal themselves during the day.

Anyhow it must be getting close to LLB time.

Cheers.

What a difference just one or two degrees C can make... Especially when crossing the freezing point of water or the transition temperature for superconductivity...

We did get a little bit of sunshine towards the end of the afternoon here with 27C (felt like 24C) being recorded and so far this evening we've been dodging the storms again, though 1 more line of them isn't that far away and the temp is now down to 16C (feels like 13C) and I've got a wind tunnel going here to suck as much of that coolness in as possible (so far I've got it down from 23C to 20C, though it does feels like 16C right where I'm sitting).

Anyhow with these storms roaming about I'm going to get another rum as I'm on hatch watch while watching the Big Bash with the sound of thunder rumbling in the background.

Cheers,

Friday morning has morphed into Friday afternoon, with the dullness being only slightly abated in the last four hours.

Friday flies by far too fast by far.

Even with merely a bright overcast, what a beautiful difference a few more positive degrees makes to the temperature.

Lots to do yet, and all good fun!

Here in a bit I’m going to the store to buy 1 or 2 packs of water. There is a few days of freezing temps coming and I want to have cooking and drinking fluid. It goes with living in a flat. I have managed to live through a number of water outages.

Daytime temp looks good for now. It falls off to a low -4 °C. Freezing pipe’s weather.

Still tut-tutting from hours of unscrambling a mess of plumbing and controls strewn across a plantroom floor. Quite a game of tiptoe through the tulips...

Big realisation for the day:

Cabling and pipework and controls and valves are far far easier to work on and keep working when neatly laid out at standing height up on an equipment wall... Far faster too...

But then such neat work needs planning and intelligence...

Hence why we have such inflexible regulations to try to stop the worst of the atrocities against engineering!

All good fun?...

I harvested some lettuce leaves and tomatoes from my little veggie growing setup this morning which are now chilling in the beer fridge for some sandwiches after today's LLB and with next weeks groceries done I'm just going to spend the rest of the day in my nice cool unit upstairs where it's 21C (feels like 18C with the big fan going) while outside it's already 26C.

Meanwhile all those solar panels on the roof are working well to keep it much cooler downstairs as it 25C down there instead of the 30C+ it use to get to under these conditions (while providing a steady 5KW of power to use of which most is going into the grid).

Anyhow I just got 2 more things to do in here and then it'll be time for a Saturday LLB.

Cheers.

I did some rearranging of what was in my living room yesterday, though I'm not finished on that, though due to pain in my body from yesterday any more will be put off until my pain subsides, 2 acetaminophen 650mg and 3 Bayer back & body 500mg aspirin are as much as I think I should take. Some items like car parts(not all, just most) are now in my bedroom and some boxes are in the small bedroom. I still have about 7 boxes to move out of my living room and in to the small bedroom, plus move 2 bookshelves where one will be on either side of my tv. And I have still to fire up the new tv, though the extension cord for that is connected to power and all assembly is done on the new bedroom tv..

Before:

After:

The cats are self rearranging, so that's their problem.
