From Windy.com it looks as if some parts of CA will get a bit of it, but not at full strength so your washing may be safe on the line. However there could be some much needed rain over a lot of the state, hopefully teaching those wild fires a lesson (unless thunderstorms set off any more).

We have a tropical storm heading our way. That's about a once-in-a-lifetime event in California. I remember one hit when I was about 10.

Remember one in 1976, "eye" came into Los Angeles. They fall apart very quickly over the cold ocean current from Alaska that flows down the coast.
Hope the state gets a good soaking. No snowpack so there is no other water.

Well the weather experts for this region can't agree on what's happening here today as it could be mostly sunny, partly cloudy or it's going to be mostly cloudy and maybe there'll be showers and maybe not, talk about hedging their bets.

I'll just have to see how things look when the sun rises as to whether I do some painting today or not.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee.

Cheers.

We expect 36c 96f with a whopping 1% chance of rain. Better air today. We started to get smoke from the Yosemite fire. Winds from the NW today and the sky will be clear.
Now, this is new. We have a tropical storm heading our way. That's about a once-in-a-lifetime event in California. I remember one hit when I was about 10.

1% here too, we've had 0.03" of rain which is enough to get the car or house windows dirty.

I remember the Hawaiian pipeline, a lotta water there.

Message 2104325 - Posted: 2 Aug 2022, 21:01:54 UTC

As a very crimson glow was happening in the east (through the clouds) Hump Day got off to a 4C (felt like 3C) start here as rain out on the western plains again approaches the western slopes, but whether it has the legs to get up this far will be another story as it pretty much failed to make it here on Monday.

Those experts have dropped the "mostly sunny" bit from their forecast, though partly and mostly cloudy are still being tossed about, and they have finally settled on a 15C max for here after bouncing between 13-16C, but it does look like that my painting will now have to wait a couple of days to get done.

So I guess that I'll just have to get my brewroom ready today for doing some brewing tomorrow instead.

Cheers.

Add some spirit to that mix and you knock a few more over Rob. ;-)

I just came in from outside and it's not looking at all good out there as a lite shower sent me back indoors so now I need to warm back up with a coffee as I wait for the dishwater to cool down enough to get my hands into.

Cheers.

Late into the night and we still have steam heat...

Is this really chilly damp old northern Blighty?

... Or have we somehow had the weather from Florida wormholed over here?!!!

At 9am here it was 11C (felt like 9C) with a rare bit of sunshine streaming down at the top of the village while it was pouring down at the bottom end.

Cheers.

It certainly is here of a morning. ;-)

Well once the dishes and the rinsed out beer bottles dry the brewroom will be ready for action.

Again the rain that was out on the plains ran out of legs trying to climb up the slope with only a few drops landing here though there were a few showers had not far away, but it still doesn't look all that promising out there as the wind picks up and it certainly doesn't feel like 13C (feels like 9C) either.

Cheers.

We briefly reached 15C (felt like 12C) here today, but it didn't feel that warm, and it seems that our forecasters are very confused ATM as to what's going to happen tomorrow.

Anyhow it's getting close to the end of another day here so I hope that this show finishes soon.

Cheers.

Winning on a Thursday morning as sunrise approaches.

[edit] Now that the sun is up it looks like I may get my painting done this morning.

Cheers.
