I know how you feel about the bathroom. You probably think you are living in it.

I have two, both used to have a fan each since both need one, the fan for the small bathroom is here on My desk for My PC for those really hot days, if I can ever get the window a/c unit installed at My desk, I can then put that fan back in the small bathroom.

And now of course heavy lifting is now doubly painful, a bone fragment in the left elbow and a dislocated right shoulder joint, lovely...

If I work on a PC, I had better not lift it the wrong way for a while, if at all, just lay the PC down if I have the room to do so or work on it in place, the two above My desk on the next shelf up will be interesting, the cases are lighter, though the innards might not be, just getting one down and working on it and putting either one back is going to be really loud, good thing I have 5 out of 7 custom sized vinyl dual pane windows installed here cause no one can hear the tv at 100% volume or Me. The last 2 windows aren't where I have My PC at and there is a wall between those 2 rooms and the living room.

Hex's on the hunt for Octa, be wery, wery quiet.

Elmer Fudd didn't quite say that.

Yep Carlos, Duck is the right word as I come screaming past you in RAC...

And this PC is not at its final cpu upgrade yet...

An Octa core E5-1680 v2 overclocked to 3.7-3.9GHz...

Don't get your expectations up too high. I have already ordered an AMD Ryzen 9 3950x and associated accoutrements. Plus addition 2070. GPU expected Monday, the CPU is on back order.

Oh I just went gold. Guess the magic number is about 2400 now.

16 pci-e lanes vs 40, possible cpu 12 core E5-2697 v2, yes My 3 X79 motherboards support these E5's, the dark especially which has all the latest bios upgrades from 2018 that EVGA made, and I do know how to get the most out of them, the bclock, fast cas setting on the mem which requires mem that is already tight, like Cas9 which ddr3 supports.

I might be able to wring 8 out of some 2133MHz G.Skill ddr3 mem that I'm watching without reducing the speed, maybe, 1866MHz with a lower cas of 8 would be no loss, and of course the limited multiplier support which is not totally locked, not to mention hyper-threading to 24 from 12.

And yes I'd be running close to or at 20 cpu wu's at a time while doing 6 gpu wu's and the motherboard can handle four 8x pci-e lanes and 4 video cards, like the 1660Ti, I do not plan on using two 2070's like the ones you're using vs My two 970's, 1660Ti's at most, I plan on making one to four Asus Phoenix's into blower cards and I have just the purrfect donor in mind for the parts needed for that task since I can't find any 1660Ti in a blower card, 1660's? Sure, but that's no fun, at least for this PC.

My current mem is G.Skill 2133MHz ddr3 @ 10-12-12-31 and is manually set at 1866MHz and 9-11-11-30 with the cpu at 3.7GHz and 4.0GHz is possible for really "SOGgy" performance, 2133MHz is overclocking the memory controller on an x79 and the board supports 2400MHz as do the other X79's that I have here as I checked this out this morning to make sure, the bioses of all 3 support any E5-26xx v2 cpu, though I doubt any available 2400MHz ddr3 mem goes down as low as 2133MHz does in ddr3 in regards to the timing levels.

The settings I'm using now has been running non stop for at least 1 day and 20 hours.

Min ddr4 cas at 2133MHz is 15 from what I've read, ddr3 can go lower and I'm at 9, 8 is possible, I'd still rather get a 1680 v2 since it is unlocked and I can use the bclock with the 1680 too, plus I'm water cooled here in a tall tower and I use a Seasonic snow silent 1050w platinum psu.

I don't understand most of that. But then I don't OC.
Monday I will have 3 RTX 2070 GPU. It seems that my RTX2070 are averaging 222 sec per work unit or 388 work units a day. The average credit per work unit is 60. so each card is generating about 23k credits with two cards I am earning 46k and once my third is installed I expect to see about 70k. plus whatever the CPU produces. So I should see a RAC in the 80K range soon.

That sounds like 3.7 minutes which means you are doing 1 wu per gpu, I'm doing 2 per gpu. MY PC is one I built, I even applied new bios updates as they became available.

The Hex or 6 core cpu is now running at 3.9GHz, stock speed is 3.5GHz, idle cpu temp is about 35C and the cpu temp while crunching is about 60C, cpu is an acronym for central processing unit, if you knew that already, please forgive Me.

My G.Skill 2134MHz memory is now running at stock speed, instead of 1866MHz.

Of course right now I can do little beyond maybe adding a 3rd video card and a 3rd pci-e power cable for the 3rd video card thanks to a bone fragment in My left elbow joint.

If the 3rd card was an Asus 970 Turbo I would not have to add a 3rd pci-e power cable to the power supply.

Hyper-threading or HT for short means I can run more wu's at one time than if HT was disabled in the Bios instead of enabled.

i5's @ 3.4GHz + dual 3GB 1060's + Linux + Special Sauce = >80K winning. ;-)

Cheers.

A couple of shots of the UK mainland's most westerly electric car charge point

As far as I can see the next one east on the mainland (along the "main" road and using a ferry) is about 60 miles away in Fort William (unless you have a Tesla...). It is certainly in a remote location, and one that is prone to be a bit windy. Even on the calm summer's day I was there spray was crossing the narrow spit leading to the ferry terminal and the charging point.

Yeah there are about 8-12 charging stations going in from Electrify America down at the Walmart Supercenter in Barstow CA and 2 out out at Eddie World in Yermo CA from ChargePoint that are only in need of a final inspection to go live. I said 8-12 since there were just 6 and yet now at a slightly different location 2 more were installed and the spot has room for 2 or maybe 4 more for a max of 4 there, maybe. I've got to remember to take some pics of that next time I'm in town. There is even a new Jack in the Box at the Walmart Supercenter that's under construction, so now people could have either fare from Burger King inside or Jack in the Box outside. Barstow even has a new Taco Bell, though that is on the other side of the 15 fwy on Main St.
