Saudi Arabia had pushed last week for a steep cut in production by OPEC countries and by those oil producers in league with OPEC, particularly Russia. The idea was to prop up prices in the wake of a global decline in demand because of the epidemic of covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. But Russia balked, not wanting to give up market share, and over the weekend, the Saudis turned 180 degrees.

They are now moving to flood the market with hundreds of thousands of barrels of additional oil per day and offering steep discounts to refineries around the world.

Analysts fear the move is the beginning of a price war between the Saudis and Russia — which will squeeze American shale oil producers as prices are heading sharply downward.

No matter what happens the discussions about how well we get through this or why was this so bad will be politically based, and if you move it somewhere else who is going to moderate the unavoidable political comments in either of your choices.

Where I go to buy groceries has a bunch and I mean a huge bunch of Old People shopping and working. Ever notice how many Old People have Jobs in Grocery Stores and Other establishments?

Also. lots of Old People get sick, Heck I was sick fO first time in over 15 years last month fO 2 weeks. Lots of old people every day get sick and their families; neighbors; passer-bys; - think of - All dA Encounters of Old People happening every day.

So? Hardly anyone in U S of A is getting Sick of CoVid - or dying of it.

Tests. Tests are not going to Increase Numbers of people getting CoVid. CoVid is OUT THERE and Hardly Anyone is getting Sick.

If they were, Many more would be dead and these dead would have had CoVid or Not. And WE WOULD KNOW about it.

Opa! During the day, 60 people were found infected in the Stockholm region. 2 of those infected are in need of intensive care.

Meanwhile the cases of the seasonal flu is lower than it use to be.

The worst outbreak in Sweden in the last five years was the winter of 2017/18 when more than 20,000 people were reported to be sick with regular flu with a peak in February and March. That season, 1012 people died of the disease, most of them elderly. So far this winter (week 44-03), 65 people have been registered as deceased in the seasonal flu in Sweden.
The corona virus can have major effects on the world economy. Yesterday's stock market decline was the largest since the financial crisis in 2008. Reduced economic activity in the world can lead to a sharp economic downturn.

Since the seasonal flu dissipates to a great extent after winter. Hoping that the COVID 19 flu does the same in the Northern Hemisphere.
But... Although they have had some infected after travelling.

Hopefully the COVID 19 flu will dissipate next month or so like all other flues. The SARS virus some years ago did that. What many are afraid of, if it will behave like the Spanish Flu that lasted for 2 years! And the age group with most fatalities were between 5 to 55 year, not like COVID 19 were most are more then 70 years, often with other complications as well.

As for travelling, the most of Swedes that have got infected were in Italy on vacation... Bummer...

My wife and I were finalizing a three week train trip through France and Italy this summer. We decided not to proceed.
BTW: We were within days of booking and paying for the trip and the personal cancellation did not cost us money. Unlike a friend, who did not receive a refund for his cancelled trip to Italy and Greece this summer. But only a credit for any future trip.

Yes, travelling today is difficult but this method has actually always been implemented. Cancelling a pre-paid booking is almost impossible for any reason. At best you get a credit for future trips. In this case it's called force majeure and it's understable. But it's not funny to realize that as a customer though of course.
