I wonder if they set the RTS cache to 100k to see if less stress in the files system would help the server performance. I was kinda wondering the same thing. Usually by this time the day after the weekly maint, the RTS cache is back to normal of around 500k. ~Chris |

Did I miss another hiccup again? It's almost like you're shutting the system down when you go to bed .... . . Here I have the opposite issue , this machine 'shuts itself down' during the day when the heat gets too much to bear ... Stephen :( |

I thought it was a good idea Speedy. I know when I got ghosts I did what I could so my wingman wouldn't have to wait forever, and so they would clear the db sooner. The system has been having enough hiccups lately as it is, I would think every little bit would help. Thank you both for your support in my decision to abandon the 178 tasks that turned into ghosts. |

. . So the tasks do NOT sit in limbo for 2 months and cause his wingmen undue delays ... What undue delay? If someone gets worked up over a few WUs not being processed and having to wait for them to be resent then they really need to get a a reality check. Sure, if a system is causing nothing but ghosts, errors or what have you- that's a problem. But a one off of a few WU? Not an issue. Seriously. Which is why I asked why, that's all. Grant Darwin NT |

I wonder if they set the RTS cache to 100k to see if less stress in the files system would help the server performance. Nah, just the servers struggling more than usual. Look at the Purge backlog, to go with the Validation backlog, to go with the Awaiting deletion backlog (now cleared, for now), to go with the random Scheduler dead times each day, and of course the limited Splitter output. Things are not well. Edit- add to that list, sticky downloads. Grant Darwin NT |

We are low on files to split going into a weekend. It would be nice to get another batch of blc files today. |

Hmm, this nights (UTC) drought was unusually long. Yes, a much longer than the usual glitch. Grant Darwin NT |

Did I miss something again??? :-( Anyhow, I'm hoping that everyone is actually enjoying the festive season. [edit] I opened my big mouth so I'd better get downstairs and start warming the BBQ and deep fryer up (people coming and the local waterholes may not like it, again. ;-) Cheers. |

mid-hiccup. not sure if it is just an hour long hiccup that the system will recover from or something more serious. Hopefully by posting this it will magically fix itself. |
