If Heinlein had a Door into Summer, this is a "door into winter"...

this was taken in a bus station in Cuidad de México — where winter is just a state of mind...
I think what happened here, is that the door had stairs leading down when the station was built (in the 1960's...), but the stairs were removed in a subsequent remodel, and the door locked shut.

I really don't know whether I've made the right choice here. I ummed-and-aahed a lot
