G'day everyone, from a cool sunny summer's day in the highlands down under.

Where my sister lives Gordon there's a place that produces Honey Mead, but I found it far too sweet for my taste buds.

Anyhow, after taking another wagon load of rubbish to the tip (from the shed this time) I reckon that it's time to wander up the hill for a few beers before tackling anymore work.

I'll have this shed ship shape by Xmas and that'll be the whole place done from the front of my property to the rear.

Well, I first had a glass of mead at a friend's wedding reception many moons ago, and then I found a bottle at a local liquor store a few years later, and there's a local microbrew pub that occasionally produces a mead, but in general, it's pretty scarce in my neck of the woods, so finding this facility was a real treat to me, but they apparently are still running by the seat of their pants.

Sorry I havn't spent much time here lately, but after spring clearing/cleaning the whole house and pre-Xmas clearing/cleaning of the attached shop/flat (my warm weather accommodation) so this month's project is to finish clearing/cleaning the lower 4 bays of my shed and at the rate I'm going I could finished by next weekend (unless anymore other side projects distract me).

I've just finished cutting down my scrap timber pile while producing 7 old fashioned wooden workbench box drawers (for my old fashioned wooden workbench) and accommodation for 3 other large trays as well.

Hopefully I'll be done and ready to fire up the brewroom before the end of the month.

Since I'm north of the equator, Christmas time always conjures up wintry images to me. I'm curious about how a southern country like Australia writes about it, since it is summer for you. Rudolf and the reindeer flying from the North Pole is iconic for a lot of people north of the equator. What sort of stories are told south of the equator?

I just got back from that place, and it was cool. It's in an old warehouse, and hard to find, but worth the search.

I had been to a movie at a neighborhood theatre, and decided to check this place out, just down the road a piece. It was early, about quarter to 3 in the afternoon when I stopped in. You can see my Old Rasputin Imperial Stout and my empty growler in my second photo, below -

Some people here have been trying to get me over the river to the brewery there that now has it's own bar, but all his beers have fruit added so that counts me out (his prices are a bit too high for my liking as well).

Well after spending the morning finishing off a few jobs downstairs that were preventing me from bringing the car back inside have now been completed and the old girl back inside where she belongs (plus the beer garden is ready to go again in a few hours).

I've been moving up from Bourbons to Scotch. Many months ago, I was introduced to Balvenie, then, (more recently), Macallan... I liked them both; so, with my knowledge of having liked the Grangestone Bourbon Cask I decided to move to Grangestone 12 Year Single Malt Scotch. <<----- GOOD STUFF!!!!! 😃😄 A 1.75L Bottle of Grangestone is just over $60, so it's NOT expensive by Scotch standards - Balvenie is in the hundreds of dollars for a 750ml Bottle, and Macallan is $60++ for a 750ml Bottle. (This habit looks like it could get COSTLY!!! 😱)

I find that I DON'T like HIGHLY Floral Scented/Flavored Scotches. I like the "neat"/straight Scotches. Grangestone is pretty clean and smooth. I like Macallan better, but I can't afford $60++ for a 750ml Bottle, and Balvenie is WAY out of my range.

There's one specific Scotch that I'd LOOOOVE to try as it was mentioned on one of my favorite TV shows - Supernatural. It is called Glenn Craig. I've looked it up, (many months ago), it's aged 30 years, (typically), and IS $200+++ for a 750ml Bottle!!! BUT, the Website that hosts this states it's currently out of stock. (Some Scotches, (apparently), go up into the THOUSANDS of $$$!!! I DON'T think I'll ever get to try those...)
