Is there any obvious acceleration effect for GPU and CPU computing? |

The Lunatics Optimized app installer has been around for awhile. But the project has mostly adopted those apps as stock now. Except the Lunatics cpu app is somewhat faster under some circumstances. The stock SoG gpu app can be tuned rather extensively from the stock setting. All you need to do is read the SoG.txt readme in the Seti folder about the command line tuning parameters for the assorted class of graphics cards. Or read through the forum threads for recommended tuning lines for your cards from other members posts. Finally the fastest gpu app is the special app available at Crunchers Anonymous. It is available only for Linux platforms though. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Except the Lunatics cpu app is somewhat faster under some circumstances. If your CPU can handle AVX instructions, 30-40% faster. But it really gives your CPU cooler a workout. Grant Darwin NT |

If your cooling is stock stuff then you'll have to reevaluate that before taking the next step IMHO. Cheers. |

Cooler is no problem, and it needs the highest performance. |
