Rob.. It seems you have plenty of admirers for your next trip out. I'm still amazed how you go under the tunnels and don't knock the angel off the top of the christmas tree. I like these crazy narrow-boaters..... Hope you like them too.... |

I don't eat meat and when being with family they never understood not to roast their veg in meat fat. Christmas never overwhelmed me specifically. (People's ways did though sometimes.) I look at xmas and I see people celebrating some event that makes them feel nice or satisfied. It's Life. I guess... I don't see myself as being an outsider or as a complication. I do see it as rather sad given the meaning of the idea. Hey they are going to eat animals and buy stuff from companies that pay their workers each week less than a jar of cranberry source costs us to buy at a whim. |

My older niece is vegan, She always does Her own food, no one cares or bothers Her about it. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

My older niece is vegan, She always does Her own food, no one cares or bothers Her about it. I spent 10 years vegan. It is not easy. I don't know how old your niece is or how your family works. I am sure for her she will say her own thing but as a person within a community I am sure she would also like to be completely enveloped within a cultural way of being. Have you or your family taken a year out to be vegan on her behalf? Would that bother you? :)))) How would xmas seem then? <Not meaning to be rude but it is kind of a worthy question?> (I'm not anti meat eating by the way... I just prefer not to and see it as unnecessary.) |

I don't intend to go out with that lot up in the sky (or wrapped round the mooring lines for that matter) - the top of the mast is a good 6 feet above the road deck of the first bridge I would come to.... My older niece is vegan, She always does Her own food, no one cares or bothers Her about it. No one questions what one eats there, that is all that matters. And Yes, I do know Her age, She's 47, I'm 57. If She wants to be Vegan, that is Her choice, everyone else, would rather not, but then We're not pushy, and My immediate family, barring disease and bad luck, has a long lifespan, so I'm not worried. Xmas is not entirely about what one eats... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I became non-meat-eating, about 25 years ago, cRunchy. To be honest, the only real alteration to Christmas dinner, was the use of vegetable suet and cooking the various bits and pieces separately. My family and that of my brother-in-law, took readily to the separate cooking the following year, as everything just much tasted better, with the 'first' meal. Me? With the way we've done Christmas dinner for years, now, I can and will eat anything, bar the turkey, any sausage meat and bacon. Some of the family actually preferred the 'veggie' gravy, too! Being 'veggie' or 'vegan', need not be a restraint to one's family and friends. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

I haven't played with my digeridoo for a while now. You are allowed because we know you just can't help yourself. :)~ I've played happy xmas on my Didg for the family's entertainment... They watched with amasement. (Perhaps disbelief.. LOL) Personally I thought it sounded like raspberries.. Meat eaters.. They will accept anything. :)~ |
