Then there is the Little Mountain Fire in San Bernardino CA here on KTLA.

And no, I'm over 75 miles from any fire.

Solar Eclipse Damage to Woman's Eye Revealed in Striking Images
Using a new type of imaging, doctors were able to peer into the eyes of a young woman and see — on the cellular level — the type of damage that occurs from looking directly at the sun during an eclipse.

The woman, who is in her 20s, damaged her eyes during the total solar eclipse on Aug. 21, according to a new report of her case, published today (Dec. 7) in the journal JAMA Ophthalmology.

In the woman's case, she told doctors that during the eclipse, she looked at the sun for approximately 6 seconds several different times without protective eyewear, and then again for 15 to 20 seconds with a pair of eclipse glasses, according to the case report. She also said she viewed the solar eclipse with both eyes open

YES!!
I have now become a pensioner and realize that criminals and drug/alcohol addicts gets more benefits from the "wellfare" state than I do despite the fact I have paid by far more tax then they have in their whole life.

Prison is expensive, that's why people who get SS, SSDI, or SSI live on their own or with someone else, the SSA cause of a thing called the Constitutional right to privacy, does not do that, plus it is not allowed to require people to get prior approval to spend money, it would be very intrusive, and unwarranted, since no crime has been committed.

It would appear you missed the point.

I'm well aware people who get any of what I mentioned have problems making ends meet, some say the checks are generous, they're not, a friend of mine gets $300 a month, I'll be lucky to collect $236 a month when I apply for SS in 2022, to get 100% I'd have to wait until I'm 67 to get $295 a month, but it'll be a welcome addition to My SSI check, in 2018 I've read in an SSA letter to Me, that I'll be getting $910.72 a month. My friend lives in a hotel room, and gets a pension of $300, in addition to the $300 from SS, and of course it has no kitchen, so eating out or using a microwave oven would be a must possibly, the room rent is $500 a month.

Keeping a person detained in a Swedish prison costs about $550 per day, not per month, reports a report from the Council of Europe.
It's almost three times more than what one night at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm costs.
Very much the same costs in the US.

California is burning up again. The Ventura Fire has burned 150 structures, including schools and a Hospital.
I have many friends in the area, so far they are all safe but many have been forced to evacuate.

And the House version of the tax bill takes away the deduction for those losses.

Nearly 4,000 firefighters, 575 engines, 30 helicopters, 46 Dozers, Air Tankers are working all of the fires.
Here are the 4 fires burning in So Cal.

That map is missing the Liberty and Lilac fires in San Diego County.

Yep, that would be HR-1, 2026 is when all deductions under $75,000.00 in income end in the US under HR-1, 2018 is very important, hornets nest.

Me thinks something is rotten in the databases. My poor inbox just told me I had a new message, but it wasn't, it was a message I'd read just a bit before the outage. So that flag isn't being kept correctly across the outrage.

You can't upload any work either. So I'm staying with Milkyway.

My work all uploaded and reported just fine.
Still no downloads yet, it will still take some time i guess.
