I called the liquor store near me, and they had no idea what I was talking about, lol.

You may have to go further afield.

Probably. They said, "Oh, you mean the mini-keg?". And I said, "no the magnum size bottle." Dead silence on the other end.

I've had a couple of those mini-kegs, at 5 liters each they are good fun. You have to get and keep them really cold to work properly though.

I don't have any mini kegs, but I do have a bunch of beer, which I will make vanish before my own eyes......

G'morning everyone, from another very hot start in the highlands down under.

Well I've spent the last couple of hours out in the yard getting some work done out there before the heat really hits (currently it's 22C, and rising fast, while 29C is expected here today).

Anyhow, I'll finish this coffee and then go and finish off outside before heading into the house to do some more cleaning up before Beer O'clock gets here.

Cheers.

Another warm day here again and I'll be in my brewroom for most of the day cooking up ethyl alcohol so I can have some rum and sipping whiskey back in stock.

Cheers.

This page should link you to all you need to know Grant, https://stillspirits.com/.

3 parts of the 50L spirit wash down, 1 to go before I start mixing. ;-)

Cheers.

It's 36.4C outside and 30.4 inside so I'm having a few cans of Oettinger Pils beer from Germany. I really like that they are 500ml cans. Aussie beer only comes in 375ml cans/stubbies.

No problems Grant and now I'm sipping on my version of Southern Comfort while waiting for the rest of the holy water to run drip through the charcoal filter.

Cheers.

this one guy I watched in addition to that one had some pretty expensive stuff.
he said he let his stand a week to ten day with his mashs.
6 gallons gave him 1/2 gallon of 180 proof and then he cut it down.
Stainless steel isn't cheap anyway if it's good.
Cheers everybody

I only wait 10 days when I'm using the oak aging agent Grant (which is most of the time), other than that it's good to go straight away once it's watered down to an acceptable level. ;-)

Cheers.

Well Grant, out of that 50L (12.5 US gal) wash I got an amazing 20L (5 US gal) @ 40% (80 proof).

Now, where's my bed?

Cheers.

My still is the 25yr old version of the T500, but mine didn't cost a cent as I saved it from being dumped in the local landfill site 14yrs ago (I just had to replace a few seals, again at no cost).

Cheers.
