In response to the earlier chemical weapons attacks, we are now sending Tomahawk missiles into Syria. Oh, meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

As in all matters of this kind.............. I hate war and all that it has done. Although I realize that at some point, civilized people must do what they must do to stop somebody that is killing his countrymen, I still do feel the pain of those innocents caught in the crossfire. Why? I surely do not have the answer, although I have chased it all my life. Meow. All I can do is meow, and vote my feelings. Somehow, I am left hollow and bitter, because for 60 years, my votes and prayers seem unanswered. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Before we all start cheering and waving the flag, lets wait and see what the response is. Will the manned aircraft taking on ISIS now be lit up by the anti-aircraft systems operating in Syria and the consequences of that. There are US ground forces operating in the area that rely on the US aircraft for support, we don't need these people put at more risk. |

As in all matters of this kind.............. I always ask God to bless our troops. The hope is that they should be home with their families or protecting us on our homeland instead of wasting their lives in some useless endeavor in some hopeless land when their efforts will lead to nothing but more extended war and more loss of life. We should be minding after the homeland rather than running amock in situations that we either have no control over or should have never stuck our noses into in the first place. I understand that there is a responsibility that comes with being the most prominent nation in the world. But I guess I have to ask the question................. Where does one draw the line between keeping the peace, letting them just all kill themselves, and just where dos it endanger our own country if we just stand back and watch it go to hell? At what point, really, do we need to step in, waste our resources, and go to war? Is this really a threat to our national security? Could be. I am just asking. A man very much wiser and lyrical once said this, and the time is approaching. Not dark yet, but we are getting there. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

But I guess I have to ask the question................. There have been five million refugees out of Syria since the conflict began. Most have gone to Europe but many would like to come to the U.S. (and Canada) if possible. While the majority will be good people, this is a great opportunity for "bad actors" ie ISIS/Daesh to sneak in. So, in addition to lessening the human tragedy, the U.S. and its allies do have a security interest in ending the conflict, and I doubt that will happen until Assad is gone. Assad's regime is also one of the prime raisons d'être for ISIS/Daesh being there. |

However there is a big issue with that. The ones who don't want Assad left. That leaves the people who do want Assad. So when the USA goes installing another Puppet, like Ngô Äình Diệm and Nguyá»…n Văn Thiệu, don't be surprised at the final result. And don't forget tRump wants to cut the State Department budget! But I guess I have to ask the question................. |

However there is a big issue with that. The ones who don't want Assad left. That leaves the people who do want Assad. That is also very true. So only time will tell if there are enough left who didn't support him but just didn't leave yet. As well if he is gone, many may return. Hard to tell. Complicated situation, thus as Mark noted all we can do is hope that this is the right decision. |

US President Donald Trump should have asked for authorization from Congress before launching the Thursday missile strike against a military field in Syria, as required by the US Constitution, Senator Rand Paul said in a statement.I don't get it. In Los Angeles, United States, you will hear critical voices against Trump's decision to send cruise missiles to Syria. Some believe that this is a hasty decision of the president and this is a way to take the focus away from the president's real problems. - I do not think we have anything to do there. - It does not feel as if the president thought about what this will have for the consequences. |

Those who didn't leave and don't support him are those who are too weak to stand up against him, not the people upon whom a stable government is made. However there is a big issue with that. The ones who don't want Assad left. That leaves the people who do want Assad. |

Putin Considers US Attack in Syria Aggression Against Sovereign State - Kremlin The United States' missile strikes on a military airfield in Syria violates international law and represents an act of aggression against a sovereign state under a far-fetched pretext, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday. |

This is posturing on the part of tRump while Xi is in the country. The US has few targets in Syria suitable for cruise missile attacks. |

This is posturing on the part of tRump while Xi is in the country. Apparently they found a few. And please stop referring to him with your not so cute snowflake defining of his name, might you? His name is President Trump. President of the United States of America. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

This is posturing on the part of tRump while Xi is in the country. What we know right now it's only the air base Al-Shayrat outside Homs that was attacked. The US believes that it is from that base the chemical gas attack in Idlib was delivered. |
