Hope your pre-op goes OK. Normally its a last minute check that you are still breathing and have a pulse. Then to give you the final instructions for the big day (when to stop eating & drinking, when to turn up, what to take with you, estimated time of escape)

I know about Fedex and Ups and their silent service.
I'm up awake at home and still no hint they had been by except for a abandoned box on the front step.

Be careful with that gas, zoom314 (by the way, I know your real name), but the point is that such a thing could be a prelude to disaster.

Handling such a thing as gas the wrong way and you also should be aware of the possible consequences.

Therefore, in your situation, take the advice of being careful here when dealing with this.

My surgery has been moved to Monday and to a different hospital, why?

It's an equipment problem, Victor Valley doesn't have the equipment, so I'm looking at having the surgery at St Marys in Apple Valley CA, at least that's what Dr Lee(My urologist) office said, so I got all the pre-op done today, and My legs were stiff and a bit sore, since I had to go to 4 places, BCH which was of no help, then My Doctors office for the EKG, then they noticed I had no order for Blood work, they fixed that, then I went and got a chest x-ray, then the Blood work over at Lab Corp, bought some D batteries for My flashlight(2 Duracells for $2.99, I have an LED bulb in the flashlight, bought that years ago, works great), and it seems that I'm not going anywhere for the moment.

I do have a working carbon monoxide detector, even if the place I want it at needs a new outlet installed, I have the outlet, I just can't do the work anymore.

Temps are in the low to mid 80F's during the day, at night it's closer to the mid 50F's, Today was 81F, and 51F is the predicted low tonight, I'm not going to have the oven on for long, just until I get the room temp to 80F.

What happened to the two ceramic heaters that you bought with the gofundme money for your heater repair? They might be dearer but a damn site safer.

But why 80F?

Government health advice is that living rooms should be heated to temperatures of 21C (70F) and the rest of the house to 18C (64F). Its Cold Weather Plan states: ‘If you can’t heat all the rooms you use, heat the living room throughout the day and your bedroom just before you go to bed.

Probably to warm the room up and make it last until he falls asleep and won't notice the temperature drop off.

Well I certainly didn't know where else to stick it?

Is this guy certifiable or what?

O yeah?

Nope.

A: He's putting his money where his mouth is.

B: He's taking a stab at assisting to solve the world's energy crisis.

What's certifiable about that?

He does tend to overstate what he can do, but it's well intentioned.

Well Carlos this time it might cost him rather more then he reckons!!

But of course it is all a marketing exercise

Tesla launched its Powerwall 2 in Australia, the world's top market for rooftop solar, this week.

Well, seeing as how Forbes estimates his net worth at 12.9 Billion, I reckon he can take the gamble.

And one of Tesla's partners in the Gigafactory, one of many to come I've read, is Panasonic, solar and wind is looking brighter and brighter, science is wonderful.

Probably Mark, but I wouldn't hold my breath for any benefit to Australia.

And why not?
Elon surely shall do all he can to make it work.
Because his efforts are not purely based in philanthropy, of course.
At some point, I am sure he expects to profit from the venture.
But if he can succeed in making the technology perform as he intends it to, I am sure it would end up being a net benefit to those in Australia who are currently suffering from the lack of electricity.

Actually those lucky to take part in the original trail here Chris have reported to be very pleased with them and the huge reductions in their power bills (if they get any at all).

A TV report here last month reported on a family of 5 (3 teenagers) living in a McMansion here with all the mod cons whose yearly power bill went from over $3K down to just $198 with a payoff of well within 8yrs for the original Powerwall.

No more blackouts or brownouts to contend with either as it's a super UPS and sunshine is something that we're not short on down here. ;-)

Cheers.

...you have loads of sun, which is something we in the Old Country lack - if only a 3-5kW installation in this country had a payback of 8 years I'd be a very happy chappy. That said the small installation on my boat has reduced my winter power bill from about £20 per month to less than a tenner since October - and has carried me quite comfortably through a couple of long power-outs - long enough for neighbours to have "issues" with their fridges.

I'd rather have a coupe, I see some convertibles that could use a new top, plus they are easy to vandalize, one knife blade is all it would take.

i like coupes better for lower cost/weight/complexity and increased rigidity but on the used car market the selection can be rather limited so if i see a deal the decision is really whether to take it or leave it

as far as the convertible, it's a hard top so it can't be slashed, i once spent $2k to replace a soft top that was slashed(it was totaled after getting rear ended not long after that)
but the convertible hard top has a lot of moving parts, it wouldn't surprise me if it failed, gives me that much more reason not to use it

Mine is a simple removable top. 2 latches then it slides behind the seats. No fancy gizmos. It's a hard top so you can't cut it either. Once the doors are locked it's as secure as a hard top.

i would call that a targa, as opposed to a convertible

but in all my time driving convertibles i was top up over 99% of the time. socal is ideal convertible weather, but i don't live there

Or you could perhaps tell me where we next are supposed to be going.

Always the given story for such a thing, of course.
