Message 1827628 - Posted: 31 Oct 2016, 1:40:14 UTC - in response to Message 1827626.

For the good of the country she should step down. Spare the country of a constitutional crisis.

I don't really think she should do that any more than I think Trump should step down because of his own problems.

If Clinton is elected and then convicted for a criminal offense, the country can deal with it at that point.

For The Good of The Country:

Why would she do this to us? Doesn't she care?

I think Clinton does care, and I think she made some mistakes that could very well land her in hot water, but I don't think she deliberately mishandled emails.

Trump is far from perfect, either.

Neither should be President.

You're probably right there, Clyde, but under the circumstances, I'd still rather have Clinton and her problems in there, than Trump and his.

If she is elected and then convicted, wouldn't we get Kaine?

Probably and that might not be a bad thing. Maybe Coomey knows what what he's doing, how Machiavellian.

Good points.

Politics seems like a game of poker, with some chess strategy and the skill and luck of pool thrown in for good measure.

More like checkers.
And I see obstruction of Kaine as well, as the center rightist gets called a leftie commie pinko socialist by those even further right.

I'm good at two games - Checkers and the card game, War. Maybe I should run for President next time. ;~)

Nope. Nothing prevents her from being President even if she is in a jail cell. Of course she would be impeached PDQ if she didn't resign, but that is something different.

Harry Reid, Senate Minority Leader, accuses Comey of breaking the "Hatch Act".

From Wiki.
The Hatch Act of 1939, officially An Act to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities, is a United States federal law whose main provision prohibits employees in the executive branch of the federal government, except the president, vice-president, and certain designated high-level officials of that branch, from engaging in some forms of political activity. The law was named for Senator Carl Hatch of New Mexico. It was most recently amended in 2012.

Lot's of precedent there, both Hiliary and the current 'Thief in Chief' have lots of 'Chicago Politics' in their background. 'Blogo' is still serving the people of the great state of Illinois from a Federal Prison Cell just 8 miles from my front door.

How did Comey know that the emails on that computer 'appear to be pertinent' on Friday, but didn't get the warrant to examine them until Sunday.

Something smells fishy.

Either the FBI have looked at them illegally or he doesn't know they are pertinent.

It cannot be both.

Time will tell.

Unfortunately, as with Bush Sr. similar situation, we don't have the time.

Perhaps, as with Bush Sr.:

"Many Republicans claimed that the indictment made by special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh against former Reagan-era Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger the weekend before the 1992 election cost Bush a second term. The indictment, later thrown out,"

"...a special prosecutor raised new charges against Bush in the Iran-Contra probe, prompting Clinton to claim he was running against a "culture of corruption."

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/flashback-clinton-cheered-11th-hour-indictment-that-doomed-bush-reelection/article/2606000

The same will happen.

Nahh... The indictment didn't cost Bush the Elder the 1992 election...

It was Bush the Elder's line at the 1988 Republican Convention...

Read my Lips... No new Taxes...

Well.... guess what...

In the 1990 budget agreement, Bush the Elder *compromised* with the Democrats, and agreed to some tax increases...

THAT is what doomed Bush the Elder's reelection in 1992... He BROKE his promise.

In the 1992 presidential election campaign, Pat Buchanan repeatedly cited the pledge as an example of a broken promise in his unsuccessful challenge to Bush in the Republican primaries. In the general election, Democratic nominee Bill Clinton, running as a moderate, also cited the quotation and questioned Bush's trustworthiness. Bush lost his bid for re-election to Clinton.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

"The president does not believe that Director Comey is intentionally trying to influence the outcome of an election.

Also long time Clinton supporter (used to work for Bubba) Doug Schoen, wrote today "I can no longer support Hiliary due to the fact she will be under constant investigation if not outright indictment her entire term"(sic).......

I found this quite interesting considering I'm trying to follow the Podesta leaks yet was still unaware of half the stuff on this list:

18 revelations from Wikileaks' hacked Clinton emails:

Edit: OK so John McAfee ain't the most reliable of sources but while Clinton's broken record is going, "Russia, Russia, Russia!", McAfee says it's Iran.

(payback for Stuxnet?)

A sitting President cannot be indicted for Criminal Acts. If she loses the FBI would be smart to wait until after the Inauguration to charge her if they find something 'chargeable'. You can bet Trump wouldn't pardon her.

If she tries to pardon herself if she wins, there would be a Constitutional crisis to end all.

I think the American voter is gonna hand her a great big surprise next Tuesday. Wanna bet she skips the country if she loses? Kinda like Roman Polanski escaped prosecution.....
