Worse, they are the wholly owned mouthpiece for the Radical Islamic movement. Cut from the whole cloth of Wahabi propaganda. No offence but I would give Al Jazeera more credit if the polls where done by them than any of the news services you mentioned Clyde :) Al Jazeera, also known as JSC, is a Doha-based state-funded broadcaster owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network, which is partly funded by the House of Thani, the ruling family of Qatar. Initially launched as an Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel, Al Jazeera has since expanded into a network with several outlets, including the Internet and specialty TV channels in multiple languages. Al Jazeera has been called a propaganda outlet for the Qatari government and its foreign policy, by analysts and by news reporters, including former Al Jazeera reporters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jazeera Too bad they closed Al Jazeera America, the lack of commercial advertising support would have bankrupted Qatar. Why? I also noticed, when reading on the net last night, that Fox spun almost everything one way and CNN almost everything the other. One wonders if they could have been watching the same debate...... Meowsigh. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Wahhabism: How Saudi Arabia Exports Ultra-Conservative Islam. 5:04 in Saudi Ambassador Defends Law Declaring All Atheists Terrorists. Saudi Arabia (Wahabi'ists) behead atheists, drug dealers, drug users, being supposed witches/sorcerers. Yeah, they sound so liberal and so (if Al Jazeera really is a propaganda arm of Saudi Arabia) ... ? WTH? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

I've been told by a Canadian friend that there they only do the Protest vote after the Strategic vote is off the table. In a riding where your candidate will not win, then that Party may actually encourage a strategy of voting for the lesser evil of those who may win. It's a bit nuanced, but Strategic in getting a government that most can live with. |

Well it must fit his idea of left/right. <plaint>If people could agree on the meanings of terms, things, ... the world would be a better place</plaint> Apparently to him they are liberal/left because they aren't evangelical Christians? They want government control of the bedroom, the normal measure of right in the USA. True they do believe in alms a position of the left in the USA. It is so confusing to use the wrong scale and not the correct one of totalitarian or anarchy. But perhaps that is how it is wanted, confusion. |

Wahhabism: How Saudi Arabia Exports Ultra-Conservative Islam. Not the House of Saud, but Qatar. |

they only do the Protest vote There you go, things do change around here. In the old days we would just sort of vote for who "Old Dad" had voted for. As an example of that, one need only look at the results of the last election in the west of this country. Regardless of what voting habits were in sway in all the other regions of the nation, it was a solid wave of voting for the tory equivalents that were running for office here in Alberta-Stan. |

Wahhabism: How Saudi Arabia Exports Ultra-Conservative Islam. Yes. But Qatar is a Salafi state just as Saudi Arabia... Salafism has been described as a hybrid of Wahhabism. The Oct 9 US presidential debate will focus on foreign affairs. Perhaps Hillary and Trump will clarify their standpoint being ally to Saudi Arabia then. |

When ever we have a successful election my team wins! edit: People from my generation are somewhat bemused by the way our politics are evolving. I have my predictions, and some of them I am pretty sure of, but I would love to have a look-see about fifty years into the future just to check-up on things. |

<plaint>If people could agree on the meanings of terms, things, ... the world would be a better place</plaint> Trump supporters are the most confused people ever. With a Litany of simple words DJT has gotten his Basket of Deplorables to support him, Orange Hitler. |

Note the complete lack of ways to discredit the claim "Islam is Conservative". Further, fiscally, probably Hamas (?) is closest to acting socialist (not communist, to the one that complains about blurred definitions but is most guilty). I would not be surprised if most Islamic countries are also fiscally conservative. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Note the complete lack of ways to discredit the claim "Islam is Conservative". That's in the back of my mind without having looked up any specifics on the fiscal/economic policies of any Muslim countries. More further to the disagreer: we tend to hate that in others which we hate in ourselves, thus the rabid dislike of Islam from ... ? Note to all: if you are on my ignore list, it's not what you say, it's that you say it like an ... . Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

<plaint>If people could agree on the meanings of terms, things, ... the world would be a better place</plaint> (Un)fortunately language is not static, words acquire new meanings (for instance, sophisticated does not mean the same thing it did a century ago, the root - sophist - might help you figure out what it meant to your grandparents). If you want to to speak in a language that does not change as much as English, learn Latin. Wahhabism: How Saudi Arabia Exports Ultra-Conservative Islam. It can be yes: Conservatism as a political and social philosophy promotes retaining traditional social institutions in the context of culture and civilization. Some conservatives seek to preserve things as they are, emphasizing stability and continuity, while others, called reactionaries, oppose modernism and seek a return to "the way things were".(source). While you might not like the source, conservatism as a social philosophy has meant the preservation of traditions for a long time. Ultra-conservative might be a synonym for "reactionary", and would certainly seem a suitable description for many that describe themselves as "fundamentalists". In the Arab world a conservative might oppose women's rights, while in the US a conservative might oppose same-sex marriages, both are conservative views within their cultural context. For the third time from what I can remember, we need to define what we believe in clear terms: Slave party vs Freedom party. Can you show how either of the main parties in the US matches those descriptions today? If not, the terms are not clear to a modern reader. But perhaps that is how it is wanted, confusion. Confusion might not be the enemy, Data, critical thinking and education don't eliminate confusion, though they can reduce the ability of leaders to mislead a population. When a potential leader publicly states that global warming is a "concept" created by the Chinese: The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.(source) and then denies this on TV, CLINTON: [...] Donald thinks that climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese. I think it's real.(source) those that have data and are able to think critically may be confused, those that don't, might be mislead. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |
