Apologies to my wing persons, but I did something dumb & stupid which caused the corruption of my data directory, as a consequence, I had to clear the directory, reinstall BOINC, the beta-3 Lunatics, and reattach to SETI. As a result 485 tasks were dumped and are reported as abandoned. Restoration of the directory was not possible as it's not backed up during my daily backups. It's a shame the lost tasks are not being re-transmitted. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

If they are marked as Abandoned, they will be immediately resent. |

It's really not all that horrible. The servers just re-send them. They don't get lost. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

It's not that they were not retransmitted, it's that the server marked them as being abandoned instead of sending them back to me. If the lost task flag had been set to on, I thought that I would have gotten them back. I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Abandoned task are not that bad. As soon as you report back abandoend the server puts the task back in the task pool, and the task is then sendt out to a New user. |
