Al Big data analytics, The primary goal of big data analytics is to help companies make more informed business decisions by enabling data scientists, predictive modelers and other analytics professionals to analyze large volumes of transaction data, as well as other forms of data that may be untapped by conventional business intelligence (BI) programs. Also Climate modeling, Geoscience modeling & the like. It's the sort of hardware Seti would need if they weren't able to use us crunchers. Grant Darwin NT |

Al I can imagine the SETI crew nagging, can we have this, can we have this? And eventually they would get it. Also we are free to them so why beat it? |

I can imagine the SETI crew nagging, can we have this, can we have this? And eventually they would get it. For the price of one of those units they could run the project for several months, maybe even add some staff. They would need hundreds of the latest versions of those systems to come close to matching the processing power they have now. Super computers don't come cheap. Grant Darwin NT |

Yup, Grant covered it pretty well. I wonder, as these are 'discounted' such as they are, if these are maybe not based on the latest Big Pascal architecture? I didn't look any further into it that that first page noting the price, but if not, I wonder what the price would be for the latest and greatest version? |

$221K, Hmm, I could put that to better use, how? Put a big dent in my mortgage, and a new Tiger Explorer would be nice. Grant Darwin NT |
