Dies sollte sofort wirksam.

Dave: -Perhaps this is the translation you were looking for

In my Boinc is running on multiple computers to work and on the server. Now I would like that the program calculates on the server all day, except during the period from 06:00 to 17:00. The server acts as a data server and has no further active activities. How do I get there?

With your computer hidden it is difficult to give an accurate answer.
But assuming you are running Widows server, install BOINC, connect to the project in the same way as you did for your computers. If you go to the BOINC manager GUI, advanced view you will see there is a tab "options", on this tab there one called "Daily Schedules" - use this to set up the schedule you want.

Which is fine advice in itself, but not necessary unless you want to give that computer its own set of instructions, or if you want to set per-day-override instructions.

Otherwise this can be set through the global preferences option Compute only between. If you don't want BOINC to do work between 06:00 and 17:00, then set this to 17:00 in the first value and 06:00 in the second.

Further down in the preferences you can set similar limitations for the network access with Transfer files only between.

I'm pointing this out in case there's no GUI/BOINC Manager option available, and the user hates to manually make and edit a global_prefs_override.xml file.

@rob smith
In McScout's first sentence, he stated that BOINC is presently running on his computers. So, I didn't touch upon installation and project connection. In retrospect, I could've specified Advanced View. I've studied a foreign language (ie non-English) and literal translation in either direction can seem incoherent. I was trying to follow the KISS principle.

It's good to have checks and balances, because the important thing is that the information seeker is helped.

EDIT:

Won't this affect all of McScout's computer's and not just the server?

Not if he puts it on a different venue/location than he has for the rest of his computers.

OK, at the bottom of the page are selections for home, school, and work. But where are the computing options for Daily Schedules on the global preferences page?

There's
Transfer files only between
which is equivalent to the Network section on the Daily Schedules tab of the Computing Preferences in the manager.

If you modify the above on the global preferences page, won't the computer continue to crunch WUs between 0600 and 1700?

I only know of that option being available in BOINC Manager.

The local preferences and the global preferences here at Seti are exactly the same in word and description. The only addition that you have locally is the daily schedule override.

As I already said in my earlier post in this thread, you set the limits for calculation with the Compute only between X and Y preference. It's underneath Suspend when non-BOINC CPU usage is above N%.

No, of course setting a limit of transfers will not work. That only sets a limit as to when BOINC can use the internet.

Mea culpa. I have no idea how I missed that earlier.

I do not know why this would not have the effect that you require. Someone with more knowledge than I will need to offer assistance.

Make sure that BOINC Manager->(View->Advanced view->)Activity is set to "run based on preferences". If it's set to "Run Always", it'll run always.

That it works, I know for sure for my BOINC is sitting:
12/04/2016 18:10:33 | | Suspending computation - time of day

When it's on, it's only allowed to run between 21:05 and 06:00 and weekends.

This above was my error. Now it works.
Many Thx to all.
