Bring your own power plant as well: it needs 3200W. |

if you can afford the 129 thousand price tag, you probably can afford the electricity as well, lol.. |

Of course, if we get the money together for Seti, so they can buy one or two of these, they don't have any need for us anymore as they can easily run all their own work. ;-) |

For those with an extra 129K USD laying around..... I'm kind of not impressed with 85 TFLOPS of SP for $129K. I think we could do better for much less money. Like Dirk's quad Fury X with 34 TFLOPS of SP. What that server has that IS impressive is the 42 TFLOPS of DP. Which is where most of the business class needs to to be these days. Looks like Berkeley already pre-ordered one or more of those: http://www.engadget.com/2016/04/05/nvidia-dgx-1-deep-learning-supercomputer/ I guess it won't be used for Seti though. |

Looks like Berkeley already pre-ordered one or more of those: Sadly, I am pretty sure it was not ordered for the Space Sciences group. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
