This topic is started in topic: Notes on Nvidia driver bloat [361.60 Hotfix] with post 1761949 .
See there for more info and the two answers.

The problem started with version 8.
With version 7 there where no problems.

I am running Seti on three computers, all on the same network and modem, using the same AV program.
Two have no problems, but number three with computer ID: 6349991 gives for every Cuda task the error download failed!

Resetting the project and rebooting the computer and modem, as advised did not solve the problem.

After rebooting the computer I saw in the log this:

"The two answers" are correct (even before reading them I was intending to say the same they say)

Antivirus - check logs and quarantine - the most probable culprit

Net - restart Router, check/change LAN cables, swap them to different socket, clean socket, ...
Try a VPN (as a test) like SecurityKISS - in case the file is blocked in transit e.g. by your ISP using some Antivirus scan on transmitted files/packets

(video driver is irrelevant)

... using the same AV program

And the name/version of this AV program is?
Same Settings?

Thanks for your answer.

Antivirus - check logs and quarantine - the most probable culprit

Nothing in quarantine and in the logs no warnings, blocks or something like that for files from Seti.

Net - restart Router, check/change LAN cables, swap them to different socket, clean socket, ...

Restart/reset router and computer 3 times on different times and days.
Wireless connection, so no Lan cables

Try a VPN (as a test) like SecurityKISS - in case the file is blocked in transit e.g. by your ISP using some Antivirus scan on transmitted files/packets

This seems to me very unlikely, because when this would be the cause, I should have this problem on all three computers.
All the computers are on the same network, but only one have this problem since the release from the version 8 stockapp for NVIDIA GPU.
With version 7 no problems.

... using the same AV program

And the name/version of this AV program is?
Same Settings?

Bullguard internet security 2016 (version 16.0.314.4), all with the same settings.

Greetings RoosStar,

Until I read the above, I was thinking it might have been a router problem.

We had this problem late last year, on both our computers. I checked everything just as you have and nothing seemed to fix the MD5 errors. My last resort was to buy a new up-to-date wireless router. I installed and configured it and we no longer get the MD5 errors. We have 2 wired PCs and 2 tablets and 2 smart phones on the wireless.

But, if you are only getting these errors on one of your computers, I haven't a clue. I hope you get this resolved soon. I was happy when I got ours resolved. :)

Keep on BOINCing...! :)

Wireless for all computers?

All the computers are on the same network, but only one have this problem since the release from the version 8 stockapp for NVIDIA GPU.

Try to Copy the files (all .exe that have 'cuda' in name) from another computer.
BOINC should see them and not try to Download again.
Do not reset the project. (as it will delete all files)

Bullguard internet security 2016 (version 16.0.314.4), all with the same settings.

Never heard of BullGuard - it is not used by VirusTotal:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/652a4c3ea58420c7ac3efce2df9df557f6f0bdaa60c66a7ee44764228b941a6b/analysis/

But I see "interesting" name - Key people: Nedko Ivanov (CEO) - this name is Bulgarian ;)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BullGuard

If the above "Copy the files" do not work - try to disable Antivirus for a few minutes until BOINC try again to Download those files (look in Event Log)

Another test - get this file (Lunatics_Win64_v0.44_setup.exe - 26 MB)
http://lunatics.kwsn.info/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=475

The file is clean installer (NSIS - based on 7-Zip compression)
It have inside all the CUDA apps (+more)
Scan it with your Antivirus - will it find something?
