The link title was a touch of sarcasm :-) Much of todays youth look to such sports stars & Z list wannabe's as role models. Nice example wouldn't you think :-)

Experts are being brought in by the fire service in Cheshire to identify the "possibly corrosive" chemical that's spilled onto the M6 after a tanker crash.
The collision happened between junctions 18 and 19 northbound and Cheshire Fire Service says about 18,000 litres of liquid has leaked out. They've declared a "major incident".
Cheshire Police says both sides remain shut but they are working to get traffic trapped by the collision moving.

That doesn't bode well. Thought all tankers had to carry hazchem warning signs stating the type of chemicals being carried.

4t aswell as carrying the hazchem id plates the unit was also supposed to carry basic equiptment so the driver could try to contain any spillage till the emergency serveces arrived on the scene

At the time I posted, it was just a live update on the BBC. Now it has a report & from the looks of the tanker, it was hit in the rear, so maybe the controls were damaged too much.

Idiots will still behave like idiots.

A perfect example of why I feel if you don't have the right aptitude for driving, you shouldn't be given a license.
If someone thinks a public road is the right place for racing, then they don't have the maturity necessary to be allowed to drive.

It might not be quite like that, I think they were probably ignorant of the attitude and laws to motor racing that apply in Switzerland.

They were racing on a public road, driving well above the legal speed limit.
I'm not aware of any country where that is legal, unless it is a sanctioned (ie an organised & approved (legal)) event- eg Targa Tasmania.

177.5kph on a open public use road isn't ignorant, it is premeditated.

Here going above the posted limit is either racing, aggressive drivers, or people in a hurry to cross the desert.

Or, on German Autobahn "Slow" - for many, many km there are no speed limits, and the Germans make full use of that and CRUISE at >200kph, headlights blazing holes in the back of heads of those doing "only" 180kph....

So you wouldn't be exceeding the speed limit, as there isn't one.
However my understanding is you could still get done for Dangerous driving (or the German equivalent) if you tried going through fog, snow or heavy rain at such speeds. There's no specific limit, but you're expected to drive to the conditions.

That`s true of course.
Also racing is not allowed on public roads too.
We can just drive as fast as we want when no limit is given.
But nowadays we also have many partial speed limits.

With each crime and every kindness we birth our future.
