Howard Roarke is such an interesting character, it's taken me 1 year to get through 1/4 oof the book. Reading Limbaugh went so much more quickly. Even "Earth in the Balance" went more quickly!

The Fountainhead... good novel. Read it 3 times.
Read the novel 'Atlas Shrugged' 4 times.

Currently reading one of her collections of essays 'Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal'.

1) Couldn't this go in the Hillary RODHAM Clinton thread? This thread is for Donald JOHN Trump and in your post, it lacks the sometimes necessary overlap.

You will not put the book down.

I have no problem with wanting to be functional and original. Creative. I am sometimes creative.

I do have a problem with the idea that following anything classic is sub-human.

Putting in the realm of architecture? Maybe interesting in the 1920s? Now? It's boring?

Ms. Francon and Mr. Toohey and the dances they do to appear different? Boring.
Roarke and Ms. Francon's weird submission/domination dance? Perhaps a bit creepy, what I've read so far.

of not only Communists but Jews by way of the House Un-American
Activities Committee. Right in the thick of all of it was
Walt Disney working hard to get rid of most of the Jewish,

You may be asking: "So what?" I have always believed that the
true nature of any one is directly related to the things they
do in life. I was not impressed with some of the terrible things
that Ayn Rand did, and what I think she represented as a philosopher.
I think she should have stayed writing screen plays.

It does not take into account the words of the 2nd President, John Adams:

It is more important that innocence be protected than it is that guilt be punished

(source)

The presumption of innocence requires the law provide protections for the guilty (and thus the corrupt). Rand is wrong, the nation is not doomed, its people are better off.
