The 2016 Republican Party Platform And you think that if Ted Cruz had won the nomination and the Presidential election that the laws past while he was in office wouldn't have had to pass his evangelical Protestant values? |

And you think posting this link somehow discredits the notion that some sealot is going to try to cram his or her version of Christianity down your throat via turning the USA into a theocracy (the Christian Saudi Arabia)? Sorry no, I had not read the platform in detail and found it an interesting read compared with posts here. So now I'm wondering if you think posting this link somehow credits the notion that some zealot is going to try to cram his or her version of Christianity down your throat via turning the USA into a theocracy (the Christian Saudi Arabia)? ... |

I see people who agree with each other believing they don't! Isn't Drumpf's divide and conquer strategy working just grand? Total infighting and disgust, so he is the only person who bothers to show up and vote! |

And you think that if Ted Cruz had won the nomination and the Presidential election that the laws past while he was in office wouldn't have had to pass his evangelical Protestant values? Sorry to repeat but no, I had not read the platform in detail and found it an interesting read compared with posts here. To be honest I'm sitting on the fence and do not like anything I see so far and or what to think. I like hearing and looking into the different points of view. I like to try to understand other's point of view and in turn question my own. The most important outcome of this election for me is what happens to the Supreme Court for the next 40 years. I prefer a split court. I feel it is more balanced interpretation of law. No one side dominates the other. ... |

Environmentally, the RNC platform is a disaster. This would not only put efforts to combat climate change way back, or undo-able, but industrializing federal lands would affect many species. This is clearly not science based, but business and emotion. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

This is clearly not science based, but business and emotion. Unfortunately, much of our history all too often has been to use every resource available until completely depleted, regardless of consequences. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Isn't that what America was all about? If you look closely you may see that America is really all about miss-direction! God help us if any of them ever catch on to what people like Clinton et al are dong to them. It's bad enough up here in the land of the free and the home of the cold, but them poor people in the republic are getting it real good from their leaders. edit: You know how it is, tell the truth and every one hates you! |

Ian, those so called leaders have bent over too. You aren't permitted to know the names of the real leaders. |

And you think posting this link somehow discredits the notion that some sealot is going to try to cram his or her version of Christianity down your throat via turning the USA into a theocracy (the Christian Saudi Arabia)? Being one of the most recent atheists on the message board, I'm fairly sure ... yes. Along with my knowledge of the religion as a former practitioner and as an intelligent person, I can now also see some intelligent arguments from my new fellows. One interesting point that applies is that the current platform indicates tacit belief in US Christians being victimized. (Note the bold and look into the truth, outside the US and within.) The persecution of Christians inside the US is, it appears, [i]a perception[/i\ and ... the perception may need to be exist because they belive Jesus existed and, not only that, He died on the Cross to save them from their sins. Thus, as their leader was a victim, they must see themselves also as victims for following him. BTW, it appears fundamentalist Muslims also play the victim. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Along with my knowledge of the religion as a former practitioner and as an intelligent person, I can now also see some intelligent arguments from my new fellows. One interesting point that applies is that the current platform indicates tacit belief in US Christians being victimized. That's the feeling I got too. The victim card narrative is over played a lot these days. I feel it has a more negative effect than a positive one. No comment on perceptions, another day/place maybe, but I understand what you are saying. Sorry my grammar is not the best. ;^) ... |

BTW, it appears fundamentalist Muslims also play the victim. Watch and learn. http://interactive.aljazeera.com/aje/2016/the-caliph-islamic-history/index.html You may be surprised. Oh, note they translate it as ISIL. They might know. |

Get on with it. Question: Putting aside your own personal opinions, will you do the same if Hillary is elected? Will you start spinning in her direction and stop dissing her and start moving forward? I don't consider myself a Hillary supporter, but if you're going to use such rhetoric in discussion, be prepared to accept your own challenge you're laying out for everyone else. If you're not willing to do as you say, then perhaps telling others that they should is disingenuous at best. |

Get on with it. I'm not a betting man, but I'll put down a bet on just how disingenuous he is. Need to come up with a good one that does not depend on who wins. :) Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |
