Damn!!

I should've taken my CPU MB top up 1 day earlier than I did. :-O

I could've had both my CPU's back to crunching AP's by now otherwise. :-(

Cheers.

I am not sure if it would have made much difference when all is said and done at the end of this AP run. I kept my cache low in case APs started coming but the CPU is crunching faster than then APs are downloading so I have to periodically add a small amount of MBs just to keep the CPU busy between APs. :(

Same here....I get a few APs and then the caches fill with MB work. All my rigs are set to accept MB anytime AP is not available.

This AP run is not going like the last. The splitting rate is not making a lot of headway on demand. I have been floating up and down from about 600 APs in progress all day now. I am processing them about as fast as I can snag them.

The problem with that approach, particularly with a slow CPU, is that you easily reach your 100 WU limit with MBs and then there is no room for APs even if one should come your way. I like to download 20-30 MBs at a time and then set it for AP only so there is always plenty of room for APs, even 4 or 5 at time ( I can dream, can’t I) if they are available. Of course I only have the one machine and not your farm to manage so it is not that hard to monitor. :)

I was going to say that the way I run things has something to do with managing 9 crunchers. And I primarily crunch on GPUs...the CPUs are mostly along for the ride...........

Out of curiosity how many GPU's / rig? You got a lot of farm to care for there and from your pix, a lot of kittys to care for too! (I suspect the kittys demand more attention than the rigs.)

Well, I got 595 in progress, I suspect they are pretty evenly distributed, so about 66 per rig. But, I've been turning them over all day, so I've been crunching up a lot.

As to the kitties, I have 3 now, as my eldest passed about a year and a half ago at 18y 8months of age. Still miss the dear. I think my attention is pretty evenly divided between the rigs and the kitties.........both must be attended to and given attention. The kitties give it back, however...LOL.

Yes, I see now why I get so few AP's. (Plus I haven't bothered to tweak configuration and app_config. Well, they say if you can't run with the big dogs you got to stay on the porch.)

No worries, my friend.

I has taken a lot of invested time, spent money, and more than that, a lot of good friends here on Seti that have helped me along the way for many years.

I could not have done this without the support of many, many others that over the years have helped me along my way and wished to see me do well here.

LOL....I know....and I can lay my hands on each and every one when needed.
I am truly 'Seti@Home'.
Not off in a server rack somewhere, and not back at the office, or in the schoolhouse.
I live and breath with my crunchers.
That happens to be a matter of much pride for me.

Nicely put. Indeed this is why the project stays together through thick and thin. Thank you for that.

Well yeah. I can't deny what I see, and there's certainly no love between my GTX980, my CPU, and the scheduling servers.

It goes both ways though of course.

The F-word comes to mind for some reason.... :-)

I can thing of a few f-words as well.

Most of my machine generally have the same luck getting work. Out of 5 i7-860's 4 are at their queue limit with 1 sitting at 85.

Just rescued a (Vet believes) 4 week old kitty, that a *&:>(*^ Driver 'dumped' into a parking lot. She just opened the door, threw her out, and drove off.

No abnormal problem, so far, with my other kitty's.

I hereby bless you as another saint of kitties....bow down and take you anointment.

Although they are abundant, some do not get the fact that kitties are one of God's creations, not to be disposed of at a whim. I believe that their little lives are in every way as special and as worthy of care as yours and mine.
Every single one of them.

That is why I meow after almost all of my posts.

Meow.

What now? "This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress"?

My host has two 750ti's, integrated ATI APU and CPU, so my calculations I should get 400 tasks.

But now I do have only 43 Nvidia, 9 CPU and 100 Ati tasks.

After I switched ATI off from preferences, I got new Nvidia task.

Now switching ATI on in preferences, just to see that message comes back...

Hmmm, just a crazy thought (nearly time for Friday afternoon beer and pizza over here) ...
Maybe we should have an AP priority list. Will cost you US$ 10 per month to join. I guess it will easily beat your fund raising attempts ...
