R&B and soul singer Ben E King, best known for the classic song Stand By Me, has died at the age of 76.

King started his career in the late 1950s with The Drifters, singing hits including There Goes My Baby and Save The Last Dance For Me.

After going solo, he hit the US top five with Stand By Me in 1961.

I am officially in mourning then.
I know now he is truly at peace, as most blues men are when they find the veil.

He carried on until almost his last day doing what he did best.

The kittyman is devastated.

I heard on the late local news tonight that B.B. King is in Hospice care. They also reported an ambulance call at his Las Vegas home, with 1 person (unnamed) transported to hospital.
