My use of the term 'kiddo' is one of familiarity and friendship. One of the things that Lori liked about me when we first met, is I would occasionally call her kiddo, as her grandfather used to. She liked him a lot.
It certainly is not used by me to be demeaning or insulting.

People asking bold questions deserve bold answers.

1. Mark knows that if I see him going off on a tangent or bending the boundaries that I will point it out to him. Because most times he is unable for reasons we all appreciate, to see it for himself before it is too late. He will always get a straight honest answer from me, and without being nasty.

2. Most people here don't care about Mark, they are just sitting back waiting for the inevitable. I was the only one out of all of you that could be bothered to write to Fred suggesting a compromise way forward. Mark and I have a frank understanding.

3. Due to time zones mods cant be everywhere, so a heads up to likely events is helpful. I would rather he got a six hour cool off early, than a 2 week ban later.

Women see "kiddo" as being condescending and patronising. Cary Grant and others may have got away with it in WWII films, this is the 21C. Please don't do it.

"Hon" or "Hun" is also somewhat in that territory as well. Between two partners in a marriage or relationship that is fine but rather iffy outside it, but up to those on the receiving end. Angela K calls Uli Ulibelle which is a lovely tribute to a dear friend, and who would doubt that Uli is the belle of the ball around here? That is different.

I have publicly said that I think Mark was reinstated too soon, and I stand by that, and yes I believe that in time, if nothing changes, that he will go on an extended holiday again. He has been effectively challenged to prove both Seti and me wrong. Is he up to it? Does he want to be? Can he be bothered to be?

We all now know that Mark is on the loose all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this particular weekend. He knows now he will be monitored, the Mods know he needs to be, and we will all see what we see. The players have their lines, stage ready, curtain up, let the show commence .....
