We in the UK are getting thoroughly tired of your childish and pathetic playground games. So Mr. Alexander Yakovenko, you are "tolerated" as an Ambassador in this country, so kindly tell your puppets Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedevyour who presumably authorise this, to stop taking the piss.

Scandinavian countries as well:(
Flying with transponder turned off as the Russian plane do is inappropriate, serious and dangerous. There is a direct threat to the security of the international airspace.
This is what happened 3 mars 2014 when a SAS flight was on a collision course with a Russian military Aircraft. Only 100 feet from collision!

Jens Stoltenberg revises the number of Russian aircraft intercepted by NATO scrambles in 2014. FOUR times as many last year as 2013.

The problem is that now Russia is not a top world power any longer, their armed forces have to be kept engaged in something or other, else most would probably defect out of boredom. Hence all this pseudo warring in their satellite states, and posturing towards Nato countries, of which there are 28 Members. Russia was part of the Warsaw Pact which ended in 1991, succeeded by the CSTO.

To a certain extent regular Russian insurgence into areas close to sovereign airspaces keeps NATO airforces at a constant state of readiness, which saves them having to carry out as much training and exercises as otherwise. But it is a very big irritation when we should be putting more attention to other activities such as predicted terrorist attacks.

But you can't totally ignore Russia.

It has the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world. It has the second largest fleet of ballistic missile submarines and is the only country apart from the United States with a modern strategic bomber force. Russia's tank force is the largest in the world, and its surface navy and air force are among the largest ones.

But their bear was castrated a long time ago, and doesn't growl any more. So I repeat, Russia piss off. Go and find something better to do with your time.

Putin, apparently with the support of the majority of Russian People, will not stop.

Haven't followed any of these events I'm ashamed to say, but wouldn't Putin make a lovely candidate for my "successful sociopath" category? :)

What do you guys think, does he make the cut? Seems fruit-loops to me...

Russian leadership, from Lenin to the present (Excluding Gorbachev), seem to fit your description.

I dont realy believe a majority of Russian citizens agree with Russias military tactics and political polls are most likely rigged to show major support. Most russian citizens, I believe, are subject to scare tactics to show support to the reporters covering politics, but this is far from the truth. Putin is trying to resort to the only thing he was programmed to, the KGB tactics. Thats why I believe the russian citizens are still showing support for him, they fear retaliation. Look what they have done to the band "Pussy Riot" in an effort to scare people and it largly worked.

Then look at what the EU and the US do because of cold war era laws, countries like EU, US, others, We discriminate against Russian women by not allowing them into our countries unless they have important assets in Russia.

That alone directly prevents families from traveling to our countries to show their support of our views, which are most likely theirs also. They are trapped.

We, US, EU, etc.., all need to change equaly in order for Russia to change internaly.

Do you have any examples?

I didn't say the article was current, lol. I meant the laws that were passed because of this, still have yet to be repealed. When I find the link to this law, which will be from the US Government Printing Office (GPO), I will post it.

I just read it a few months ago, in 2014, as I was researching something else, may take me a day or two to remember exactly where it was.

Point is Alex that you don't get to be President of Russia without manipulating your way to the very top. That means he is ruthless with a keen mind. You can't ignore him

Prime Minister 1999 to 2000
President from 2000 to 2008
Prime Minister 2008 to 2012
President 2012 -

But it's not clear what he actually wants, he's like a fly buzzing around an elephant.

I dont realy believe a majority of Russian citizens agree with Russias military tactics

Do you think that they get any choice in the matter?

Military tactics? Should it not be military strategy?
We even do not know the political strategy that Putin has set up.
Russian citizens are not informed of military actions anymore...

Umm not quite.

A strategy would be that to win this fight we need the take that hill. The tactics would be to attack from the West where the enemy defences are weakest.

Bear in mind also that Putin got divorced last year after 31 years of marriage. No idea if there is anyone else.

I'll no longer be posting any replies to this thread, it seams you all are just critisizing comments/replies based on anti american views you've come to accept and feed upon when you see the country flag under a username.

Enjoy your bickering.
