The limitation of Book Learning, is there is no real understanding that Decision Makers, never have ALL the information needed, nor really know what the consequences of their decisions will be. There is NO certainty!

There is no absolute certainty, but that doesn't mean that there is no certainty at all. A moderately intelligent decision maker can and hopefully does know that nuking the Taliban in Pakistan or Afghanistan is a dumb idea. And it is as close to an absolute certainty that you can get that carpet bombing ISIS held areas in Iraq and Syria will actually strengthen the organization. That is the historical experience of carpet bombing. No need for books or a university degree to know those two facts. One is just common sense and perhaps listening to your advisers in case you lack common sense, and the second can be learned from watching the History channel once in a while.

And, as we see now, this attack was even to much for Al Queda and the Afghan Taliban who both send out press releases condemning the attack. In the end, this attack will do more to destroy the Taliban than a million of our bombs, because this attack has decisively put the local public opinion against them. Now leave it to the locals to clean up their own mess.

And in Iraq and Syria, ISIS has resorted to executing its own members for its military failures and to 'discourage' others from deserting. Keep on the pressure and a movement like ISIS will tear itself apart. Or even better and begin eroding ISIS's power base by driving a wedge between the organization and the local population.

No need for nukes or overly aggressive 'lets carpet bomb the area' strategies.

Pakistan is a nuclear power and its technically at war with India, another nuclear power. Yeah, you might wanna reconsider that brilliant idea of no one giving a damn when a nuclear power gets either nuked or starts throwing nukes around.

I never said any of those things. I'm just pointing out how bloody stupid you must be if you believe GENOCIDE and NUCLEAR WAR are viable options to root out a bunch of extremists. In case it hasn't gotten through to you what you are suggesting, we are talking about GENOCIDE, you know, mass murdering people for no good reason and the deployment of NUCLEAR WEAPONS, those things that have the potential of wiping out all life on the planet. Get it? What you are suggesting is immoral, unethical, insane, ineffective and counter productive. And really, it should not require a university degree to get that.

Which is why I actually joined a political party. So I get to vote or let my opinion known to the party top more often than just during elections.

You never know i saw hope on the news the Pakistani people are turning on these nutters . I hope so ,those kids would not have died in vain then. It's a pity it has taken something like this to hopefully wake up a country with nukes .

At least 56 people have been killed in a series of attacks carried out in recent days by militant insurgents in the state of Assam in northeastern India.
