Message 1634079 - Posted: 28 Jan 2015, 14:35:41 UTC - in response to Message 1634077.

It's gotten quite windy and cold here, currently 3°C

Celt takes a day off from chanting about global warming and it gets colder in two countries? Methinks it's not a coincidence :)

Hm, strange thing too is he was spamming us with his day without internet and the next morning facebook was down (briefly, for 2 hours or so...)

The inside temp is a warm 78°F/20°C here and the air in here doesn't feel drafty anymore, thanks to all the work I did, the gas heater only comes on about once an hour and only for 5 minutes at a time, that's sure better than the 15 minutes the gas heater used to be on at one time. Temp outside is 54°F/12°C, over night the temp got down to 43°F/6°C, predicted high of 65°F/18°C...

Some snow, some hail and an amber warning of snow from the met office itself. The weathers kicking off here tonight! :)

Well the snow continues here and I've found myself charging a car battery. Only took two hours, something tells me that's not a good sign.

60 to 80% chance of rain here on Friday, hopefully not while I'm shopping or bringing in the groceries...

Still cold and some of the snow has gone with the sun we've had today.

They've been saying all week that we will get some snow Saturday night and through the day on Sunday, but only a few inches, no big deal. This morning the new runs of the computer models came in and they issued a Winter Storm Watch.

One model says 4.5", another says 8.5, and another says over 12 by Monday morning. Oh, and it's going to get cold too. High on Monday in the mid-teens F.

I'd rather the schools didn't close again.

Well as long as that isn't 8.5', that 4.5" or 8.5" doesn't sound like too much, just be careful David...

Great :(

Winter storm watch for the weekend: As much as 6-8 inches of snow
The largest single snowfall of the winter season is expected to hit Chicago this weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting 6 to 8 inches of snow will be on the ground by Monday morning, with a winter storm watch in effect from Saturday evening through late Sunday night.
