Is there any lucky person received GPU WUs lately? I haven't seen any since yesterday. |

Thought the problem was database/server crashing left and right and not funding was the course of the last 2 months problems. And replacement of that server, Bruno, has yet to occur(as far as I can tell). Until such time as that replacement is up, running, and debugged I would expect less than optimum output of all WU's. As in all areas of endeavor patience and perseverance are musts. If anyone is qualified professionally to assist the SETI staff on a volunteer basis, I'm sure the offer would be well received. I have been receiving SSE AP units which are the worst of both worlds. They are AP units that are run on the CPU taking about 7 or 8 hours to run when they could have run on the GPU in under a half hour. |

I have been receiving SSE AP units which are the worst of both worlds. They are AP units that are run on the CPU taking about 7 or 8 hours to run when they could have run on the GPU in under a half hour. That's due to a server change a few months ago giving priority to the CPU cache. I suspect it was aimed at distributing more MB VLARs. Unfortunately it had a very bad side effect in that the server now tries to fill your CPU AP cache first. As long as there is room in your CPU cache the server will most likely send CPU tasks. At this point, where most CPU caches are low, the only solution would be to disable Use CPU. It really doesn't matter with so few tasks being sent anyway. I'm afraid we've descended into SETI 'ell. It was working so well after the move to the COLO... Here's a thread about it, AstroPulse Work Fetch Thread |

My green star wore out so I pushed the donate button and followed the prompts. I hope it comes back soon. |

I just did the same. I wonder how long it will take to see the star. |

I just did the same. I wonder how long it will take to see the star. It took about 20 min for me. |

It's cold here now :-) Sten if you don't like it do something about it. I know your aversion to green stars but that is the only tool available to us. |

if you look carefully you will see the same thing happening 3 times, last week after the shutdown and few days later when no work available and today after this shutdown . The blue line bits out ? 1 gig of info flowing through the router in other words it's maxed out and no bandwidth . Someone kick the system again and restart it maybe that will get it going but this time one server at a time not the whole lot at once . A controlled ramp up not bang! everything at once . Never works well no matter what machine you try it on computers or just a machine to make crap . |

Interesting. It used to be back to normal within a few hours. Still no GPU WU here. GPUs are resting at 27 degrees over a day now. |

The AP WU awaiting Assimilation & Results awaiting Validation have reached their second highest levels for the year, and continue to climb. Could the bloat from this be contributing to the poor AP & MB splitting rates & the general system instability of late? Grant Darwin NT |

Wow, I have managed to build an enormous AP GPU cache of no less than 2 WU's. Smile, you are a lucky one, most of my GPU´s are allready running empty. Maybe we will have a better luck the next year. BTW Wish a Happy new year to all my "distant E.T. finders friends" |

My system somehow managed to build up a small cache: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=157931&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid= :O ...and yes, a Happy New Year to all! :) Aloha, Uli |
