It's normally part of a cooling system. Something which radiates waste heat into the surrounding environment.

Thanks Richard,
I am trying to find a psu that will fit in my new case. In the 1000 watt psu ad they don't give dimensions. And in the case which is in the mail, I don't know the dimentions either. Maybe it's just some kind of standard which they all use now.

when I am not sure, and I need an answer quick, I just ask. Stupid or not. Doesn't matter to me. Only thing matters is that I learn this stuff. Fast.
The term was embedded in an ad which was misleading.

There are several radiators for computers. Most common is the radiator for the CPU. Now we also have radiators for the high end GPU as well. Some radiators are air, other are combo liquid/air radiator. You need to have the spaces for them and enough fans to push or pull the air through them.

It's ok to ask questions, it's how we ever learn about these things. I asked a lot of questions after I came back to Seti

If you go to the PSU manufactures site they should provide better information than a retail site. Also the case manufacture should give any dimension limits for a PSU. Generally the higher power the PSU the longer/deeper it will tend to be. I think 650 or 750w might be the limit of a "standard length" PSU.

I use two of these radiators. One for each GPU.

I use an aquarium chiller for my CPU.
Liquid all the way!

In the 1000 watt psu ad they don't give dimensions.

Link?

("radiator" (heatsink) in the ad may be inside PSU to cool its hot parts)

There is one thing that is little talked about. And it is very important as the cooling fan and heatsink. Thermal paste. If you want to cool your cpu more efficiently you need a quality thermal paste.

Forgot one of your questions. The size of the psu. I am in the dark to on this. So I threw a dart the dark so to say. I knew what the case was that I was buying so I went with same brand psu. And it fit like a glove.

The two sites I look at the most are http://newegg.com and http://tigerdirect.com
