A lump of rocks or ancient art? Thats real art. The stones are from Wales many miles from Stonehenge. They did it 4000 years ago. It's not a lump of rocks. Ancient? I Think this art is beyond time. |

Ok, seashells and art is a start .... Not only perception is needed. You have to learn about art so it makes sense. Like we are doing right now:) Art is a very important part of our lives. |

Stonehenge was constructed out of lumps of rock, and when assembled together formed a circle that had religious significance and was connected with the Druids. I would not class it as art, although some may say that in its heyday it was aesthetically pleasing. It is of historical significance and is a World Heritage site. I think you are alone with your opinion:) Stonehenge has become a symbol of British culture and history, owing to its distinctiveness and its long history of being portrayed in art, literature and advertising campaigns, as well as modern media formats, such as television, film and computer games.Art is a subsection of Cultur. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_depictions_of_Stonehenge btw I wonder why Botticelli called it The Birth of Venus (Italian: Nascita di Venere). It actually depicts Aphrodite arriving at Cyprus from the Greek mythology A rock (Carrara marble) or Art? David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created between 1501 and 1504, by Italian artist Michelangelo. Galleria dell'Accademia, Florens |

Piles of rocks or Art? The pyramid in the middle consists of an estimated 2.3 million block of rocks. |

Pile of rocks. Now if they redid the outer limestone layer, that might be art. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Ye gods, you are as picky as that Dutch bloke!!! It seems you know about the Roman and Greece mythology:) Venus and Aphrodite are the same goddesses. But Cyprus is a Greek Island that the Romans later occupied... The painting is called 'Nascita di Venere'. Not 'Afrodite arrivare a Cipro' |

Firing on all 6 cylinders Jeff :-))) From Wikipedia "The Great Pyramid was surfaced by white "casing stones" – slant-faced, but flat-topped, blocks of highly polished white limestone." In the old days it looked like this. http://www.unmuseum.org/giza_complex.jpg Casing stone in the British Museum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pyramid_of_Giza#mediaviewer/File:KhufuPyramidCasingStone-BritishMuseum-August19-08.jpg |

Myself I'd class the pyramids (and the Sydney Opera House or any other building) as architecture, not art. :-) Cheers. |

Myself I'd class the pyramids (and the Sydney Opera House or any other building) as architecture, not art. :-) Yet another one. Architecture IS ART. Architects are artist. They are educated in KTH in our country. Astrophysicist Max Tegmark who works at MIT is a student from KTH. My school:) KTH motto is Science and Art |
