Almost as soon as the troubles in Gaza blew up, we got the " The Israel and Palestine conflict" thread, with lots of criticism of Israel's response. The title asks the question, give us your answers, or do I have to assume the worst? |

Almost as soon as the troubles in Gaza blew up, we got the " The Israel and Palestine conflict" thread, with lots of criticism of Israel's response. Hmmm, I think you created it? Next, "where's the thread on Israeli's who like Palestinians but hate Hamas" or "Muslims that stand up against violence", right? Sir, these things have been discussed, at least somewhat. So, why the need for a separate thread? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

The Islamic violence has hardly been discussed at all, yet the numbers killed, injured and made homeless in Islamic countries is far greater than the numbers killed in and close to Israel. |

I'm pretty sure the whole IS business has been discussed in multiple threads. But if you want to make one entirely devoted to all bad things Muslims do, go right ahead. And while you are at it, make one for Christian violence too. And Buddhist violence also seems very appropriate with the rise of several Buddhist-nationalist movements in Asia. Oh and do Hindu violence as well! You know what, it might be easier if you just make 6 threads, corresponding to the main regions of the world: North American, South America, Europe, Africa, The Middle East and Asia. |

Usually in the form of we are right, them are enemies. |

Probably no thread with that topic because the topic is so blatantly racist. If the actions of ISIS and their kind deserve a thread about "Islamic violence", then we also need threads about "Christian violence" or "middle aged white guy violence" because of people like Wade Page or Scott Roeder (Google them). By all means condemn violence, but don't justify the actions of these people by becoming the semi-fictional bigots that these groups (Islamic, Christian or whatever) claim exist in order to advance their primarily political agendas. |

I agree with you bill it does not seem right but it may not been intended to seem racialist |

Not just Americans, Sunni and Shia too http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2014/09/islamic-state-beheading-lebanese-soldier-20149621136150647.html |

Not just Americans, Sunni and Shia too Americans are peoples. Sunni and Shia are not peoples. Sunni and Shia are religion fractions! Just as protestants and chatolics. And what you read from Al Jazeera artical are actions NOT done by muslims but by terrorists. |

Not just Americans, Sunni and Shia too Read our history of Protestants and Catholics. Best example I can come up with is the Irish Immigrants who were shunned and discriminated against in the middle and late 1800's.
Old James |

Not just Americans, Sunni and Shia too Yes. It is a shame. Irland and England (Northern Irland) has finally come to an agreement about 10 years ago not to fight each other. |

How about a Thread: Jihadist Violence? Yes Jihadist are terrorists and not true muslims. Most muslims hate them and certainly Allah. No paradis for them. |

How about a Thread: Jihadist Violence? That bit is certainly true, and based on the (albeit small) sample of 'all the muslims i know', i'd go further and say that All muslims hate the terrorists far more than non-muslims do. Which is understandable, as it's not our name that's besmirched by the terrorists but theirs. When a terrorist group of white, ginger, technically-but-not-actually-christian people start blowing stuff up and beheading journalists for their own purposes then i'll be able to empathise properly. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Sweep up over two billion predominantly peaceful people then chuck the word violence at them. Well I can only think of three wider category's to pop people into (other than the big one - humans - of course) before then tarring and feathering everyone within it :( To paraphrase Bobby (where is Bobby actually :( haven't seen him for a bit - do hope he is okay - actually come to think of it there's a few people who... shh! off topic) ...I think it's a bit more complicated than that. So yes... Jihadist violence, as suggested by Clyde, might be better... I'd be more comfortable contributing to the thread anyway. ... based on the (albeit small) sample of 'all the muslims i know', i'd go further and say that All muslims hate the terrorists far more than non-muslims do. Republicans worse than ISIL? http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/09/02/dem-candidate-for-congress-says-republicans-worse-than-islamic-state/ The greatest country on earth is being bullied from within. Actions of Republicans in congress are worse than #ISIL. |

Republicans worse than ISIL? So now we can really see how far down the sewer a politician will climb. When I see a tea party member actually behead a democratic member of Congress. I will agree. I call it BS. And big BS. Both partys are so out of whack I want to vomit. Each party should look in the damn mirror. They both are rotten to the core. We need term limits for congrass and senatewhores.
Old James |
