It is a shame that the POLITICS thread is the only one that stays current up to the minute. We should be discussing the SEARCH , cosmology and our next ventures into space and exploration |

It is a shame that the POLITICS thread is the only one that stays current up to the minute. We should be discussing the SEARCH , cosmology and our next ventures into space and exploration Isn't that what the 2 science threads are for? |

It is a shame that the POLITICS thread is the only one that stays current up to the minute. We should be discussing the SEARCH , cosmology and our next ventures into space and exploration I know what you mean. Sometimes the space and science forums go days without any new content but the politics forum rarely goes more than an hour without any new entries. And most of it is restating and rehashing the same old rhetoric. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. Here 'Is' Current and Up To Da Minute: Registration may be required to read ... http://www.guidestar.org/organizations/94-6002123/regents-university-california-berkeley.aspx This organization is not required to file an annual return with the IRS because it is an arm of a state or local government. http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2012/270/652/2012-270652636-0965f81f-9.pdf http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2012/946/090/2012-946090626-09653637-9.pdf 33 Total net assets or fund balances $1,289,464,235.00 Somehow, I don't think Seti@home is material to that number. |

Politics is about peoples opinions and we all have those. There is a really low entry barrier for participation. Science threads on the other hand, well they require scientific advances and breakthroughs, and people need to actually know a thing or two about the scientific field before they can participate in a meaningful way in a discussion about it. In other words, there is a much higher barrier. Besides, politics is something that happens everyday. Science? Meh, if taken across every field of science then yeah, but looking at specific fields? Not so much. |

It is a shame that the POLITICS thread is the only one that stays current up to the minute. We should be discussing the SEARCH , cosmology and our next ventures into space and exploration + a million but we all have to live in a society where Science isn't a priority:( With the fundings we have, it'll be hard to find any signal of alien origin. Maybe if we had the full Very Large Array...... rOZZ Music Pictures |

I think it is useful for people like us to have discussions about scientific and space developments as it serves to spread knowledge of the subjects throughout the community. But we must be careful to investigate some claims that have been posted here before jumping on the bandwagon and repeating stories that have no factual basis. I, for one, was surprised at the lack of interest in the aerial wind turbine project that I reported on several weeks ago. Only 8 responses and only a couple of them even regarded the subject seriously. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. It is a shame that the POLITICS thread is the only one that stays current up to the minute. We should be discussing the SEARCH , cosmology and our next ventures into space and exploration Hmmm, shouldn't we leave Politics to the experts as well for that matter? rOZZ Music Pictures |

It is a shame that the POLITICS thread is the only one that stays current up to the minute. We should be discussing the SEARCH , cosmology and our next ventures into space and exploration Most of restating and rehashing the same old rhetoric is very much used by politicians. Election here within some weeks. And where are the discussion from the SETI team? I haven't seen any for years. And the science forum is always open... |
