If...America would stop exporting oil and natural gas. Which should be prohibited by our government, and would be if energy interests did not pour so much money into political campaigns. And if...the dang DNR did not put a damper on new mining and drilling projects. And if the NIMBYs would quit trying to stifle wind farms near them. I think that is has been estimated that the US could be self energy sufficient in rather short order and could give the foreign oil interests the high hard one they truly deserve. The problem is that profits take precedence over policy for the energy companies. So, if the government allows it, why sell energy here to the domestic market and lower price levels if they can get a higher price abroad? There should be an immediate embargo on all US based resources being exported. Clear and simple. Then I believe we would not be as drawn to stick our nose in conflicts in other nations because the flow of oil might be hampered. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I don't think we should have ever sent troops to the middle east, but given that we did I think they were removed from the region too early. Personally I like the idea of totally cutting off all parties from outside help and let them fight their tribal wars to the last man standing. But the weapons they now have are far too dangerous to let that happen. To me, any group of people that eagerly chop off a prisoner's head to get their way have lost any rights to a hearing in any court and they should be eliminated from the planet. & the desire to behead prisoners comes from where? Naw, that's not a problem as we all do that, but we give our prisoners 3 square meals a day & pay them for any work they condescend to do... ...plus provide a library so that they can read... ...how to prevent themselves getting caught next time around. |

Id say screw fracking until we actually need to do it. I cant see polluting wells with crap water chemicals that they wont divulge. Poisining a water supply should only be a last ditch effort to save your ass in a war.
Old James |

Most likely the US was arming these folks covertly in an attempt to topple Al-Assad in Syria. Things then got a little out of hand, and now they also have Billions of dollars worth of US-supplied arms courtesy of the feckless Iraqi Army. All of this amounts to a massive cock-up in Foreign Policy. |

From the 'Junior Varsity' President? mm gets economy working , get's the U.S out of Afganistan and Iraq allows poor people to now be covered if they get sick no scandels like Clinton and yet hes is a Junior President !!! Seems to be doing a better job than J.W.B did after all whom was the 1 who got Bin Laden oh that's right it was not J.W.B . Seems like he has his head screwed on right and is actually thinking and planning his moves not like some other um cowboy did . And i for 1 trust his judgement on this as he hasn't put a foot wrong yet so if he say's no troops on the ground then i think we should listen and back him . |

From the 'Junior Varsity' President? Our current President is wishy washy. To tell the truth he dosent no what to do.He is totaly out of his league when it come to foreign affairs. He has surrounded himself with brown nosers and butt kissers. At it shows Alot during his last term. Now this is just my opinion but he sucks worse than President Carter did. As for ISIS in Syria I could care less. Let the rats eat each other. However we Screwed up in Iraq. WE do need to fix that. But the Iraq's need to grow some balls and fight for there own right to exist. OR maybe they want to go back to being under a Caliphate.
Old James |

OR maybe they want to go back to being under a Caliphate. When 80% of a formally oppressed population wont fight for freedom, then they are screwed.
Old James |

OR maybe they want to go back to being under a Caliphate. We are for thinking they wanted to be free. |
