Gaza conflict: US and UN condemn school shelling Or perhaps you shouldn't use artillery fire when you know you can't hit the target. Even Israel doesn't claim the school itself was housing any terrorists, there were simply terrorists in the 'vicinity'. But yeah, this is what you get for using your artillery on a freaking city. You miss and instead of hitting any terrorists, you hit a school filled with refugees. Oh but really, its their own fault for letting terrorists near them. Its certainly not Israels fault, because they really had no choice but to use imprecise artillery batteries. |

You really are something... 5 years of drone attacks ...the US has a nerve! As for the UN, talk, talk, maybe they should invest in a mobile phone company. US at war As you seem to love all things EU, why don't you pop over to the Ukraine & discuss your views with them. |

You really are something... The US takes 5 years to kill 2400 people, of which, even according the critics, the majority are actually terrorists. Israel takes three weeks, kills 1400 people of which 80% is estimated to be civilians. Yep, excellent comparison to show how f'ed up the Israeli application of force is, its much worse than the American killer robot assassination program, which is pretty bad already. As you seem to love all things EU, why don't you pop over to the Ukraine & discuss your views with them. You really are a master at making random, off topic, nonsensical unrelated statements about what I should do. |

You really are something... Really for one who wants proportional responses, do they just tickle the terrorists/schools/hospitals/civilians? I just love armchair warriors, more shyte comes out their mouth than what comes out their ass. |

Being offended by the knowledge that sleeping children and babies lying on the floor of a shelter beside their mothers died should NOT have to be defended by anyone :( |

Really for one who wants proportional responses, do they just tickle the terrorists/schools/hospitals/civilians? What the...this sentence doesn't even make sense. Hell, its not even proper English. I just love armchair warriors, more shyte comes out their mouth than what comes out their ass. You're one to speak about shyte coming out of someones mouth. Google translate speaks better English than you do. |

Being offended by the knowledge that sleeping children and babies lying on the floor of a shelter beside their mothers died should NOT have to be defended by anyone :( Thank you, about time someone mentioned that on this thread. There are several things no one should witness... 1: The sound of a bullet hitting a person 2: Looking down at a person hit by bullets 3: a body hit by an explosion looking at photos is one thing, actually seeing is something else. No weapon invented to date can achieve 100% pinpoint accuracy & with man's constant desire for conflict, there will always be innocents suffering. Until that changes... |

Really for one who wants proportional responses, do they just tickle the terrorists/schools/hospitals/civilians? Go back & read your posts. You're the one who kept mentioning proportionate/disproportionate responses. Regardless of what response is made, one is & does it tickle or kill? |

Your thought process' leave much to be desired. The IDF were not trying to hit the school, they were trying to hit or scare off the terrorists, using the only practical weapon. There I say again, if the UN declare an area or building is a safe place, it is their obligation to ensure these terrorists do not use any area close by to launch weapons. If you don't like artillery then suggest ways to stop the terrorists, that are practical, instead of saying don't use artillery. |

Being offended by the knowledge that sleeping children and babies lying on the floor of a shelter beside their mothers died should NOT have to be defended by anyone :( +1000 It seems the war mongers here in this thread are just the same as the war mongers in charge in Israel and Palestine. I guess its ok as long as its not their children. I find that attitude vile and disgusting. Reality Internet Personality |

Being offended by the knowledge that sleeping children and babies lying on the floor of a shelter beside their mothers died should NOT have to be defended by anyone :( So it is ok then for a terrorist to shelter under the skirts of the mothers as well and fire his weapons at the Israeli children, knowing he won't be fired on because the UN will protect him, by calling the IDF action a war crime if they do fire back. And at the same time getting the IDF suspected when his illegal weapons go off course and hit other hospitals, schools and markets. That is the most upside down logic ever. |

+1 ...and the biggest dog in this room that is not barking is this... ...with all the angst against Israel on this thread, where is that angst against Egypt? They are involved in the blockade as well, so... |

Your thought process' leave much to be desired. The IDF were not trying to hit the school, they were trying to hit or scare off the terrorists, using the only practical weapon. A 155 mm howitzer is NOT a practical weapon to hit or scare off a bunch of individuals in an densely populated urban environment, and even less so if you know there is a school housing hundreds of refugees in the neighborhood. And sure, place the responsibility with the UN. What exactly do you expect them to do with no armed forces to keep Hamas out? The best way and probably the only way to stop Hamas is to provide people with a viable alternative. But that solution is neither easy or quick, nor will it ever get any politician elected, so it will not happen. Instead, they will continue to wage this war through military means, because in the end, both Hamas and Israeli politicians benefit from this conflict. They are the ones calling the shots, they are responsible, and the only thing I can do is be as critical as possible and protest the way this war is fought. |

No one here is claiming that this is okay. We are just saying that disregarding the fact that there are civilians between your tanks and your target and simply taking the shot IS NOT going to solve this conflict. |
