Simple but tasty dip recipe..... I think beans are quite tasty. When staying in England for four weeks I had baked beans on toast for lunch. |

Thanks for your comments and suggestions about bread making and my whole wheat dilemma. I have purchased some bread machine flour and will try something with that. Maybe I'll make the wheat & bread flour loaf that was suggested. I'll keep you posted. ~Sue~ |

Even though I like Hormel Chili's taste, My stomach doesn't like the salt level, so I get acid indigestion. LOL...that might not be the salt. It just might be the CHILI. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Even though I like Hormel Chili's taste, My stomach doesn't like the salt level, so I get acid indigestion. What's your favorite brand then Mark? I noticed Campbell's, Stagg and Wolf make Chili. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Even though I like Hormel Chili's taste, My stomach doesn't like the salt level, so I get acid indigestion. Today most ready made food contains a lot of sugar and salt. I always do my own chili. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/simple-perfect-chili-recipe.html |

Wolf make(s) Chili I've had it, and don't care for it. Hormel is the best of the canned I've tried, but in general canned chili is too dense for me. Of course, I could thin it out, but it's not just the texture; I find the flavor rather one-dimensional. I do love my own recipe, though, and my mother's, of course, ;~) The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Even though I like Hormel Chili's taste, My stomach doesn't like the salt level, so I get acid indigestion. I have tried some of the others, but I prefer the Hormel I mentioned in the dip recipe. Usually the chunky. But, as some have noted, Mom's was better yet. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Even though I like Hormel Chili's taste, My stomach doesn't like the salt level, so I get acid indigestion. Seems taste varies http://www.sfgate.com/food/tasterschoice/article/Nalley-deemed-best-canned-chili-3163695.php with Hormel not doing very well. |

Even though I like Hormel Chili's taste, My stomach doesn't like the salt level, so I get acid indigestion. Nalley "Not too sweet," said one taster. That probably means thats too much sugar is added from the beginning in the others. I wonder why. Sugar and salt is something you can add yourself. |

Chili is not okay, it is disgusting. In my opinion, of course. I do not like any aspect of it. Well, okay, ground beef is fine... until the slightest bit of chili powder hits it. I hate all forms of chilis. My mother used to make chili. She would brown some ground beef, then add Brooks Chili Hot Beans. Maybe some tomato sauce (I forget). And usually corn. Probably some of her own herbs and spices too. I never touched it. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

I would have tried it, nothing ventured, nothing gained. My Dad said I should have an open mind and not be afraid to try new foods. I at first didn't like Pizza, until I had some that is. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

My nephew likes black licorice, yuck! Me I like red licorice. Well, "red licorice" isn't really licorice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquorice What you call "red licorice" is just a fruity candy with the same texture as licorice, and often the same shape. ~Sue~ |

Nalley "Not too sweet," said one taster. A lot of food manufacturers add unnecessary sugar to their canned foods. They do this to make it tastier to children, who drive what a lot of parents buy. I look at ingredients and purposely buy the brands with less or zero added sugar. Salt is added to make it tastier to adults. ~Sue~ |

I only buy canned chili to make chili dogs and a chili-cheddar dip. For the dip you cut a smallish block of cheddar cheese into small pieces and mix it with a can of chili. Put it into the microwave and cook until all the cheese is melted and can easily be stirred in with the chili. Use as a dip with tortilla chips. ~Sue~ |
