All this weight loss talk has me feeling guilty about being my normal ol' self. 5' 9" and 160lbs, give or take a couple either way. But, congrats to those of you who are nibbling away (no pun intended) at your own chosen goals. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In #1 168.2 pounds (AKA 76 kg; 294.23g) Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In #2 167.6 pounds (AKA 76 kg; 22.08 g) Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In #3 166.4 pounds (AKA 75 kg; 477.8 g) Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In #4 165.2 pounds (AKA 74 kg; 933.45 g) Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In #5 167.0 pounds (AKA 75 kg; 749.92 g) After four consecutive days of over-indulging in high fat, high salt, deliciously sinful celebration foods, I know I should not be surprised by a weight gain. Ok, back on the wagon now... By the way, Monday, you are doing GREAT!!! We are all going to have our little ups and downs, but you have had far more good days than bad ones and you have achieved your initial goal, which is fabulous!!! |

I have been supporting you all in my own way and it is not about loosing weight. If that happens it will be welcome Bonus. I just started a look closer at the calories of some food/drinks. When Monday posted how much wine he consumed, I thought about all the empty calories that it could for me per week. Without looking it up, it has been zero for three weeks. I like Gatorade at 280c per bottle, that has been replaced completely by mineral water, calories again zero. No quiche, brie, salami or liverwurst. Moved dinner up to between 5 pm and 7. I still indulge in a Nestle Vanilla Fudge ice cream cone at 300c, which will happen within the next two hours. I don't feel deprived or hungry. To all keep it up. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Sorry to hear about your back slide Angela. It's so easy to do. Never mind. It's good to see you are back on track. I was talking to my sister and she said losing weight gets harder over time. Just what I wanted to hear, not. :-( @TL Good work mate. :-) @ Uli I've got quite a few shocks about how many calories some foods have. I used to wonder why I didn't lose weight when I went on drinking binges and didn't eat for days. Pretty simple answer is that a 2liter cask of port (a day) =3000 cal or 1.5 times the recomended daily intake. Or 3 times what I'm trying o eat now to achieve weight loss. Oh and I am starting to notice my pants getting a bit looser. |

This is so unfair! After returning from a well deserved holiday for which I pigged out on, returned to a cock-up which meant spending close to a week on the road. Now my on the road eating habits you don't really want to know about, suffice to say I kept my face well fed :-) Unfortunately, I've found that I've lost weight as I now stand at 110 lbs :-( Must be losing weight in sympathy with you lot :-( |

Sirius, I don't know how you do it. Your metabolism is just on hyperdrive, I guess. It's kind of funny to me that we didn't have detailed nutrition labels on everything until the last twenty years or so, and yet I don't remember weight watching being so prevalent. I imagine a lot of it has to do with portion sizes which were more sensible when more of us experienced home cooking, and there were far fewer fast-casual restaurants that started trying to impress us with ridiculous impractical amounts of food. Well I think the hyperdrive should get shutdown. It's not easy to find trousers for a 23" waist & 33" leg :-( |

I took a long walk today. I will do so again tomorrow. Walks are good, and there's not the pressure joggers put themselves through. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I took a long walk today. I will do so again tomorrow. Well done Angela, walking is good exercise. On my walks I have noticed that walkers smile, early morning walkers are especially friendly, cyclists smile and runners never smile. Fat people participating in public humiliation at Eastern Beach with personal trainers just look like they are being tortured to death.lol |

I always smile at people when I'm out walking... unless, of course, I'm gasping for air. |

I always smile at people when I'm out walking... unless, of course, I'm gasping for air. I always smile at the pretty women. The only time I gasp for air is every time I climb the walk bridge over the railway tracks coming home from the waterfront. Every time I have to stop at the top of the ramp and catch my breath. |

Well, if I've calibrated my pedometer correctly, I'm averaging over 2 miles a day, and I can't see how I could be moving more than you, Chris. Keep in mind, I have a sedentary job, and an average day isn't too terribly active. Yesterday I supposedly had 6541 steps, for 2.5 miles, but a few days ago when I cut the grass, and did some other yard work, I had 9938 steps, for 3.9 miles. The lawn is due at the week end and I think I've got some canvassing to do, so that should rack it up a bit. Be interesting to see by how much. And how it changes in the run-up to the next general election :) |
