I had some blood tests the other week. My blood sugar was high and I have to have another test. A Glucose Tolerance Test to see if I have become diabetic. I will be having the test tomorrow morning but wont see the doctor until June 6 for the results. I'm feeling a bit anxious.

Thinking good thoughts and sending them your way...

And diabetes, if you have it, is a manageable condition.

Here in the US; if the "A1C" count is 5.7 or higher, and your blood sugar levels are 100 or higher, then you are considered pre-diabetic. My last "A1C" was 5.8, and my blood sugar was 130.

Regular exercise will counter these numbers and bring them back into normal ranges. Thus, preventing the course of becoming diabetic. Hence, my choice to join a gym, and lose weight.

I know you're worried, right now; but, I know you can, and will beat this. :-)

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

God bless. :-)

My AC1 is typically around 6 and fasting blood sugar around 130. I was diagnosed as diabetic in about 2006. I have always been physically active and never overweight by more that 5-6 lbs. I ride or row about 30 mins minimum each day. Today I rode for about 2 hours. I eat a low carb no sugar diet and seem to keep the diabetes under control. Still not fun. I do suffer from diabetic neuropathy. Pain in the feet and legs. Some times it's genes and not lifestyle.
Hope you don't have it, but if you do do as TL suggests, get yourself active!! Drop the sugar and reduce carbs. Not sure you can beat it, but you can reduce the symptoms.

I hope things go well, and that you get some rest before the test. Anxiety always magnifies things.

Oh no!!! What if Monday's doctor tells him to lay off the e-pie???!!! He will have to start a thread entitled "Don't post healthy, low-carb, protein forward meals in my thread".
