I have noticed a lot more water intake here too.
Both got a clean bill of health from the Vet too.

The vet check hi out and said no he was just fine but for a small dog a quart or more you wonder why.

Today I heard this story.
A taxidriver drove a young woman with her dog.
Since the young woman wouldn't like to pay the fare the taxi cab driver "took" her dog.
She filed a complaint to the police for "egenmäktigt förfarande"
Before that the cab driver drove to a police station and filed a complaint for her not paying the fee and neglectiance of a animal.

From The New York Times: The Look of Love Is in the Dog’s Eyes

... Devoted dog. Besotted owner. That continuous loop of loving reinforcement may begin with the dog’s gaze, according to a new report in Science.

... “There is a possibility that dogs cleverly and unknowingly utilized a natural system meant for bonding a parent with his or her child.”

... “If I was dropped on Mars,” Dr. MacLean said, “and everyone was speaking a language I didn’t understand, and I knew I could never acquire their language, I’d just give up. But dogs don’t. They’re not reluctant to tune in to us at every moment.”

For those who want to read the full scientific study/report the article is based on: Oxytocin-gaze positive loop and the coevolution of human-dog bonds

Chernobyl: Video Shows Fox Making Bacon Sandwich in Nuclear Exclusion Zone

The video shows the animal gathering pieces of bread and sausage, placed around it by a team from Radio Free Europe, and forming, in a BBC presenter's words, a "quintuple decker" sandwich.

HeHeHe. Foxes are clever.
Once I gave a fox some sausages that the fox took from my hand.
It then walked away with the sausages and buried it in the ground:)

Next Thursday Suz and I are taking the girls down to Cornell for their annual Cardiac scans.

Really anxious because Abby is coughing a lot and I fear the end may be coming.

We all fear the worst when it comes to our beloved pets.
I visited Squirrel again the other day.
Knelt down and kissed her grave.
I do those things.

The surviving trio are doing well. I am dreading the day, but not dwelling on it.
Whatever the Good Lord has planned, I shall know when the time comes.

Best of luck for Abby, Blurf. I know you love her very much, and I am sure she does as well.

After nearly becoming extinct, the gray wolf is on the verge of making a comeback. Population numbers are finally rising in the northern Rocky Mountains and the western Great Lakes states, but there is still much more work to be done for these important apex predators.

Ranchers aren't too crazy about them at all.

Same here.
All dead wolves, even those legally shot, are necropsied. Of 196 wolves that were autopsied the years 1996-2011 had 21 (11 percent) old gunshot wounds. But it is not only firearms used to kill wolves illegally. During the period 2003-2011 found six poisoned baits in the same wolf territory in Dalarna.

Ok...great visit:

1) Abby is NOT in congestive heart failure-progression is there but it's not dramatic. One of her meds was reduced-one increased. 2) Her coughing is NOT heart-related 3) Her kidney panel was "boring".

Gypsy has significant signs of the Mitral Valve Disease but is not in need of meds at this time.

All really good news. Both girls are out cold and we're not far behind.

We'll bring them both back in October.
